😂that was a crisp and concise summary of the movie...

Did the sadak chaap Romeo shudhrofied after that? Or did he raise another rebellion or he simply drowned his sorrow in more romeogiri?

I feel sympathy for anarkali only bcz poor girl suffered due to these two stubborn people. Salim ka Kya h in real life jahngir used to fall for a new girl every month. He had a ton of love marriages 😂😂

problem with these old days is that there is no exact version..kindda like padmavat

i googled and there are 10 different stories

some said there is no such thing as anarkali....its a folk

her tomb is actually a tomb of saleem wife

so there is no definite answer and hence movie is what ii based everything on

what I know, and take this with a pinch of salt cz this I read from posts of a historian who visited the jodha Akbar forum often.

There is no Anarkali. Damiyal was not any courtesan's son cause it's well documented he was sent to aamer aka Jaipur royal family n the king n queen who were akbar's in laws brought him up. Mariam uz zamani aka jodha aka heer kunwari aka (her real name is not well known but she's princess of Jaipur n Salims mother) were their daughter and Akbar respected them a lot,he wouldn't send a courtesan's son there ,he was most probably a Queen's son, with a high chance he was Mariam uz zamani's son. Akbar did have lots of courtesan's for sure though.

Now there is this woman called sahib Jamal. Her tomb is the one that gets called anarkali's tomb. She was the relative of Atga Khan, akabar godfather whom akbar's dai mahamanga's son Adham killed. Jahangir aka Salim fell for sahib Jamal when they were young and it created friction between dad n son. And at last akabr did buckle n let them get married. She died early though n her tomb is very beautiful with anar tree near it I think.

Salim had many love marriages. He used to fall for women very frequently. He had more love marriages than the political alliances type ones

Mughal-e-Azam and some hindi movies showed Akbar with a heart but historically mughals are not really known to respect women as much. More like use and discard. They probably had a lot of skeletons in their cupboards (maybe literally).

Gosh never knew this real side of anarkali's story.... Always wonder about these royals of yesteryears and how they lived. But this one seems to have a sad life...

There’s an old black and white movie titled Anarkali that actually shows her being entombed alive.

I didn’t know Anarkali was real or inspired by real personalities. Interesting stuff.
