Just saw this interview and it doesn't sound that bad to listen to his perspective. The thing is not everyone knows how to use the correct language to express themselves. I think when he spoke about slapping ....he meant to say real relationships aren't perfect. Now there are some places I dint agree with marking the girl like his territory nways one thing I liked that he is honest and not trying to be someone which celebs filmmakers do . That one line cracked me up was the more angry u r the more honest u r . 😆

seriously! for all the people saying "it's just a movie", LOOK AT THIS MAN. This is the brain that came up with Kabir Singh. This is what you are defending.

Sorry .. haven’t been able to access pm for some reason 🤦🏼‍♀️😒

As for everyone who keep harping “ it’s just a movie” then they should protest on “smoking warnings” and other warnings as well .. not everyone is gonna smoke right? Not that we get influenced seeing others do it anyways right? 😒

Honestly I don’t get it. If the director is allowed to have an opinion then critics too. They are allowed to say whatever they want just like mr. Director wants to make the film the way he wants. And that is okay. Critics are also an audience just like normal cinema goers they will like it or not and express it. This why did he gave for this movie this or that is childish to be mentioned by a director. He is Behaving like fans who rant if their fav got lesser stars than other actors movie.

Despite that he can’t handle criticism The only part I am most disgusted is that his excuse why female critics haveing a problem with his movies is they don’t know what love is/ or never been in love. I mean Whaaat?

There is a difference between toxic love what he is showcasing and the pure love that they are useing to promote the love story. This is definetely not pure love.

How can a normal audience member and a critic be equated? Being a critic is a job no? Or do you mean that every tom dick and harry today is a critic and so their 'opinion' should be take as proper critique of a movie? The thing is today's critics are not professional enough. Where they should be dispassionate towards a movie while critiquing it, they are even more inflamed by the themes of the movie and give one sided or biased reviews and it just makes their job easier to fuss over one issue and then base the whole review on it. So, like he said, they don't need to talk about the 20 or so other crafts involved in the movie. Aise toh koi bhi apna opinion deta hi hai, sabko critics kyun nahi bolne lag jate log and why give such importance to people like masand, anupama and others? And can't equate a critic having an opinion to a director having an opinion, those are two different roles. Directors create with their vision and that is important because how else do you create something if you're not convinced of it? Critics have to be dispassionate and rational though, that's the whole point of it. They can have an opinion and give it but not as review. As geenral audience member giving their opinion, like on twitter or wherever.

He didn't mention female critics anywhere. You misunderstood that somehow, he meant all the people who think this is toxic love haven't experience true love cuz acc to him you have whole ownership of the other person in that kind of love and again he meant both the people. His personal opinion.

I just want to point one thing out here that a few days back I saw Mughal e Azam, the so called master piece and fav movie of a lot of common folk and guess who got slapped in it? Yep Anarkali and that too by Salim. Apparently, that made her sensible. But one slap has not turned every single person against that movie? I never even heard the mention of this slap before I watched it! People are really biased against Kabir Singh and let's not forget how many times she slapped him in the movie too.

Did salim also kiss her without her permission? Kabir Singh is not sexist just because of a slap, there are a 1000 reasons more!

When Karan Johar said that Alizeh deserved to get cancer for breaking Ayan's heart (or something of the like), I thought there can't be a more fucked up notion of love.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga takes the cake in the most fucked up notion of love. It really made me ill to think that a person genuinely believes that love means freedom to "slap and touch wherever/whenever you want." As a woman, it is scary to think that there are men out there who believe physical abuse is just an outcome/expression of passionate love. Even scarier that there are women who believe this is what love is.

I also was shocked with his explanation that Kabir Singh picking out Preeti in the class is akin to marriage. Sad to know that people see marriage as a man staking ownership over a woman rather than two people mutually coming together to celebrate their relationship with family and friends.

All I hope is that someday somehow there is a way to convince him and his supporters that his notions of love are problematic and dangerous.

So anger = honesty. So whoever murders somebody in a fit of rage, should be given clean chit by law because after all he is honest to the T.

Effed up crap this man is. Waste of oxygen on earth. Because of this shitpiece, movies like Article 15 are suffering. 🤢
