    Slapping reveals love? Does kicking a man in his balls and crippling him for life reveal passion, then?

#Breaking | ‘Kabir Singh’ is back in news after its director’s controversial response to TIMES NOW. He said that ‘slapping couples reveals love’. Here is the exclusive conversation between TIMES NOW’s @mayukhrghosh and director @imvangasandeep. | #KabirSinghControversy

lol he basically said true love is when you can handle a person even when they are at their 'worst', so even when they slap you true love is shown if you can handle and understand that slap, if someone cusses you in relationship and insults you then true love is when you can understand it and know the person is being 'honest' to themselves

i'm sorry mr vanga but there are some things which you should not do in a relationship, and hitting and cussing are two of those things, it doesn't matter if that person is angry or upset, they still cannot use physical or verbal attacks, they can show their anger and upset by having a conversation with their partner, letting their partner know what the problem is

I m asking this again cause I believe he said this movie was about an angry short-tempered guy. So how did the movie dealt with his anger and short-tempered behaviour?

it didn't deal with it, it didn't show any backstory as to why he is so angry, and at the end of the film he didn't get any help for his anger

kabir's family and friends were so calm and level headed, it didn't make any sense why kabir was so angry and violent coz they didn't show any backstory

I am skeptical. But even if one person starts questioning their beliefs its a big deal. You have to believe there is some point/impact? Otherwise, any criticism is just nihilistic preaching to the choir.

Imagine the sequel for this movie. Somebody needs to make it. Loving supportive understanding Preeti helping Kabir with his anger issues where he doesn't even acknowledge he has an issue. Getting beaten black and blue every time he goes through a fit of rage and then finally the climax where he kills her without even realising what he did because he was blinded by his anger which is pretty much a second nature to him now. Finally during the court trial he admits he has issues and needs treatment only to escape the punishment of murder. Preeti finally proves her pure love for Kabir by literally dying so that Kabir to sort out his issues. Kabir thanking her for her sacrifices in the last scene will be the best ending to this epic love story.

So by his account Heer-Ranjha, Romeo-Juliet, didn't have true love. The love couples of BW too don't beat each other so they arent in true love. For that matter most couples in works aren't.

Vanga is actually preaching violence and control.

What a twisted criminal mind Vanga has.

What kind of a ridiculous twisted logic is that?

Slap = Love?

You are an optimist. I will settle for social shaming so they think twice before spreading their toxic ideas to yet another generation.

ETA. What I'm suggesting here is also not a great thing (free speech etc.), but having seen close acquaintances in terrible (physically and verbally abusive) relationships who actually believe they're in "luuurv," I'm desperate for some solution on a social level.
