I saw this saptapadi girl’s interview some time back..she is now a middle aged with kids and all..she looks so simple and I admired how she is not attracted to this glitter filmy world and living a simple normal life after giving a great performance in saptapadi..

Saptapadi is classic love story. Simple old days yet complicated.

Dont forget to watch the kabuliwala and khokababur protyaborton that i suggested. You will remember the acting and story lifelong. Both are emotional stories by tagore. But acting is extra ordinary. M giving guarantee.

Mahesh babu was so cool in this movie along with Pokiri (Wanted by Sallu). Don't want Salman (Wanted) or Arjun kapoor (Tevar- remake of Okkadu) ruining the movie though. Some young good looking actor should be cast in it. Trisha as puri was so entertaining, would love to see Deepika padukune in Hindi version. I would love to see Mahesh babu and Deepika in a movie.

But how they will portray the relationship. Humara yaha bhava becomes bhayya in North India.

They can remake Julayi. The film was logical & still has the magic. Sonu Sood can reprise his role

IDK many new films in Telugu, but most K Vishwanath films could be remade, especially Shankarabharanam, set in the present times but highlighting the value of art or folk music.. or like Swarna Kamalam, the art of dance.. but not sure if they can work..

Shankarabharanam was remade by K. Vishwanath with Jayapradha, and Girish Karnard, don’t think it was successful

I was talking about Arjun Reddy/Kabir singh. 😁 Nag-Nani's devdas was 😑 only good thing about it was Akanksha.

Modern day bengali's cannot resonate with the SLBisk attires and grandeur don't think it will work.

My suggestions:

Romantic: 😳

1) Saptapadi 1961 (Uttam Suchitra Romance)

Cry-fest 😭but excellent plot based on stories written by Rabindranath Tagore:Very good film very emotional drama.

2) Kabuliwala 1957 (not a uttam movie, hero is chabi biswas *extraordinary* acting ) and

3) Khokababur Protyaborton 1960

Satyajit Ray directed Uttam in: 😎(there are better Ray films though but you shouldn't watch them at this stage)

4) Nayak 1966 (also features Sharmila Tagore- it shows vulnerability of a movie star) and

5) Chiriakhana 1967 (thriller - little complex plot)

These all are National Award winning. ⭐️Offcourse seems weird when u see it in 2019 but still😆

After this you will know range of bengali cinema. I can suggest u better if u watch these first. From next time i will just give u specific films if u want. But this is just a few. Then we have other directors actors etc who are also good. These are classics but there are new age romances and drama as well if u want.

I didnt like Chiriakhana much.. As I heard mainly Satyajit's assistant directed it.. But I don't think anybody can do what Uttam did in Nayak.. It was written as his biography. Actually every megastars biography.. It requires someone with extraordinary acting caliber and superstardom.. Only AB could have attempted it.

Saptapadi is another movie which Bollywood should not touch.. Who on earth can play Rina Brown with that swag? Not that I say Suchitra was the best actress but she had something which others didnt. Steel like personality, attitude and inherent arrogance.. And no one has that now as well.

Rather they should try to remake current movies.. I heard Bollywood acquired Belasese. Good idea.. Even Ichhe.. Which is an universal subject
