Alia will also ruin it😆
none can replace Genelia as hasini
I actually think Ananya is the only one, who could portray Hasini role well in this generation.

Romance, drama. I think Bengali movies are good with drama. Especially, after watching Devdas, i expect nothing less from them.😆
I will give u film suggestions of different genres.I want to make u understand that bengal has seen directors like satyajit ray, ritwik ghatak, mrinal sen, rituparno etc...they are of huge calibre with varied ranges.so i will try my best to make u understand bengali film.
My focus is on introducing you first and foremost to our most beloved hero , WINNER of First National Award Best Actor , Uttam Kumar.
My suggestions:
Romantic: 😳
1) Saptapadi 1961 (Uttam Suchitra Romance)
Cry-fest 😭but excellent plot based on stories written by Rabindranath Tagore:Very good film very emotional drama.
2) Kabuliwala 1957 (not a uttam movie, hero is chabi biswas *extraordinary* acting ) and
3) Khokababur Protyaborton 1960
Satyajit Ray directed Uttam in: 😎(there are better Ray films though but you shouldn't watch them at this stage)
4) Nayak 1966 (also features Sharmila Tagore- it shows vulnerability of a movie star) and
5) Chiriakhana 1967 (thriller - little complex plot)
These all are National Award winning. ⭐️Offcourse seems weird when u see it in 2019 but still😆
After this you will know range of bengali cinema. I can suggest u better if u watch these first. From next time i will just give u specific films if u want. But this is just a few. Then we have other directors actors etc who are also good. These are classics but there are new age romances and drama as well if u want.

Hope i get these movies on the internet. Damn, Saptapadi is surely in my must watch list.

This would make a solid film in today's age.
I want Hindi remake of Arundati and it would be music to my ears if Deepika shouts "Tum muje kuch nahi karsakte" to the villain.

Ranveer can play the villain.😆

One thing I like about remake is that a huge number of audience can watch that particular story which otherwise could be unknown to them. For instance, I rarely watch any South Indian movies. So it's a plus point for me when they are being remade in the Bollywood version. If the content is good, then making remake is absolutely fine.
