Major
A good movie. Execution could have been a teensy but better. Adivi Sesh does an excellent job at getting into the skin of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, and performs gracefully. The flashbacks are heartwrenching and simultaneously heart-warming. The story over all is beautifully written. The movie does get a bit long.. They could have removed 20 minutes of the film to make it more crisp and to-the-point. Still, it does its job extremely well i.e., it brings forth the life and the unsaid aspects of the Major's life.
RRR
I've seen this movie twice so far, and each time it keeps getting better and better. Both NTR Jr and Ram Charan are magnificent in this film. Very, very rarely do we see a story with more than two characters/actors and both of them being justified, their talents used to the full potential. Music of the movie is hauntingly beautiful. Doesn't leave you once you've finished watching the film.
SS Rajamouli sir is certainly the master of his craft. Wow. What a storytelling!
A character that grew on me, albeit slowly, was that of Ram. The first time I disliked him at places. The second time, his motivation, his aspirations made more sense; and, as an audience, rendered me more empathetic towards him. Not to forget the last 30 minutes were something else altogether, like being transported into an alternate universe. The entire semblance of the post-apocalyptic feel, along with vivid colours, music.. Oh, boy! Ram Charan was definitely at his absolute best there. After Arun Govil, an actor who resembled Shri Ram is Ram Charan himself. Would love to see him as Shri Ram sometime soon in some movie.
The last time a movie did this to me, had me thinking about it weeks... months after I'd finished watching it was Interstellar.
Take a bow, Rajamouli sir. Your choice of the actors in the movie was flawless. Music was terrific. Writing was brilliant. It's a shining star, the crown jewel of Indian cinema.
