@bold I agree that most directors can't handle a big star ensemble but Kjo has always worked with big star ensembles even when it wasn't necessary to do so lol 😅 So one thing is for sure though that he knows perfectly well how to handle a film filled with big stars.

As for the script, I don't know what it is but it is based on actual historical event which took place and that event has all the trappings of an epic movie. If they are sticking to history then Takht has huge potential.

I completely agree with you on the Aamir part. Like I said, he has a great script sense and will definitely affect Takht's business if they clash.

Takht has flop written all over it. In Bollywood, whenever bunch of star celebs have starred in a movie, it has usually implied at weak scripts. Karan directing the flick is just an onus.

Aamir has a glorious filmography since Rang De Basanti with the exception of Dhoom 3 and TOH.

Plus I find Aamir more superior when it comes to market a movie. He manages to interest all over people. It's more whole and compelling towards the movie.

KJo focuses more on the stars starring in his movie, so the uproar is more on social media usually and not in theaters much. Its limited to fan bases.

There is nothing unique about that lol she obviously meant that Ranveer has proved himself time and again in the historical genre and it has become his USP so people will watch the film because of him.

In that case he has become too stereotypical. I am sure most of his fans don't want him in s historical anytime soon. In fact stakes are high, he won't be as impressive as khilji putting his USP at risk.

Also, Ranveer has not become stereotypical lol. He's the only actor in recent times who's proved how versatile he is with all his diverse film choices. DDD, Bajirao, Befikre, Padmaavat, Simmba, Gully Boy, 83 and Takht. Look at this line up, how has Ranveer become stereotypical?

He's clearly the most versatile actor in Bollywood right now and this what critics were saying after Gully Boy. Also, I'm pretty sure Ranveer will ace Dara's role. It's much easier to play than Khilji.

That was not Dharma office. Takht prep according to media reports are happening at kjo's house... that video was an ig story taken in haste to shut the rumour that Takht got shelved. It is an old poster as in a poster made when the shooting was to start in October 2019. They delayed the shoot start date from October 2019 to Jan 2020 out of the blue so most probably did not have the time to change the release date on the poster.

I know it's an IG story, I saw it myself. 😅 It IS Dharma office as per reports and it clearly didn't look like a house lol. Also, Takht was never supposed to start in October. It was always September. Now KJo has confirmed that shooting will begin by the end of the year not January 2020.

@bold: The orginal source of the interview you are referring to is a DNA interview..the writer herself mentions that the interview was given to her before he left for his NY trip. Everything changed after he returned from that trip. Suddenly out of the blue RS announced a movie that will be shot during the bulk dates he had given for Takht (September to December) which lead people to speculate that Takht got shelved. That is when kjo put up that ig story to dispel the rumours of the movie being shelved. All the sources confirmed that the film shooting is postponed to Jan 2020.

There is a slight change in the schedule of Karan Johar’s next directorial, Takht. Before he left for his birthday break to New York, the acclaimed filmmaker had told us that the movie will kick-start towards the end of 2019. However, now some trade sources say that Takht could be mounted early next year. And, the reason for this is simple.
