Anyway.. what a ridiculous excuse.

They plan the VFX. VFX team gives dates.

When they have announced release, they knew of these things.

The delay is probably cause 1. VFX looks bad and after Kalank they're afraid to release it this way... or 2. Cause they don;t want clashes.. they are tryiung to find a date after Salman's movies are rerelease.

3. Also - KJo probably hopes the currrent boycott/dislike towards him will die down by next year.. so he can cash in Bramster happily..

This movie is going the Bombay Velvet and Jagga Jasoos way. They’ve been prepping for this for over five years. Why does he need more time now? A few months ago this tweet appeared for a few hours claiming that they had seen the rushes of the movie and it was trash. It got deleted quickly. But now you have to wonder. Their third schedule has been in limbo for months. I don’t think this is about VFX alone, or at all. It’s definitely not about Salman and Dabang. If that were the case they would have just moved to January or February. But moving it to summer of 2020 and still not being sure of a date points to a problem with the whole movie.

Can I add a number 4?He knows Brahmstra is trash but this way he’s giving another one of Alia’s movies to release before and has a chance of becoming a hit. That way Aloo doesn’t have two back to back massive flops 😂.Honestly though, I think it’s what I said above. The movie is bad and after Kalank they know they can’t just sell it by calling it an extravaganza or whatever.

Not again. I want to see this so badly. Karan should realize the more they say they are taking more time for it to be perfect and all that jazz the more it'll have gigantic expectations attached to it and movies like that never fulfill the hype and end up being underwhelming. So just release the goddamn thing already.

@moonorchid : What you said about vfx happens in hollywood. But scenario in bollywood is entirely different. Here most directors and producers dont understand the process of vfx and hence don't give much time in the beginning.

They expect everything in quick turnaround, most of the time, making the artist work day and night, sometimes few do all nighters too. Like right now few of the compositors are doing in my studio. They go home early morning, come back by late afternoon, work through out the night ....that is the routine in indian vfx studios...

so it wont be a surprise if they actually thought the vfx will be done by for christmas release, only to realize now that the amount of work is humongous and not possible......esp since rendering fx (not vfx) work takes huge amount of time, with each frame rendering for atleast 15-17 hours.

Interesting Anjs. But doesn’t this make team Brahmstra really disorganized and just dumb, for lack of a better word here? I mean they have been meeting with these guys for at least the past two years now. I’m sure Ayan has been looking into things for even longer. Wouldn’t they know this? Shouldn’t they have at least known this when they realized the August 2019 date wasn’t going to work?

I still think parts of this movie will be reshot.

two years is a long time, so ideally they shouldve planned better. But, then sometimes even the production people in the studio doesnt realize how much time is needed and often screw up the schedule, sometimes just to not let the client go. As most bollywood guys dont know what is really needed to be done to get the right kinda of vfx look, so they expect quick results.... sometimes the director will say, give me the output in say, 3-4 months, production guys says okay, but later they realize that its not possible, then the date is postponed......Also there are lots of other factors that can play with the time, for example, if there is no storyboard and concepts are not created, then the director isnt aware of the final look. Which he will see only after the final render.........if he doesnt like then there is lots of re-work...... that can screw up the schedule too........... also sometimes other factors weigh in, like hardware breakdown......server not working properly........... some studios dont give good high end PC and expect quick renders, which isn't possible.......I have seen delivery dates being pushed in hollywood projects too, but still they are far more organized then Indian production houses and vfx studios......... as for dumb and disorganized, yes most bolly guys are...
