"Rohit Shetty's Masala entertainer which was announced last year along with the release of Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba is a remake of the Kannada film Tagaru which was a 2018 cop drama starring Shiva Rajkumar.

Katrina is signed and will play Akshay's love interest. Announcement is coming soon

"Katrina Kaif has signed the film last week. She plays Akshay Kumar's love interest in the film. The official announcement of the film will happen in a day or two with the makers releasing a statement along with her poster for the movie. Both Akshay and Katrina will begin shooting for Sooryavanshi later this year.

Apart from Singham 1, all other remakes of Rohit have been meh, entertaining but meh.
Singham2 , Bol Bachchan and Simmba, all were no path on the original.

Change the title Suryavanshi belongs to Amitabh and the awesomeness he showed in the movie, even a baby could grow a beard seeing that masculinity

Simmba was terrible, it was like a bad remake of Dabangg! Couldn't finish it.
