The hate for Alia on this forum is unreal. It screams jealousy imo, even her haters know that she can act well, and it is just indigestible.

You don't need grace and elegance or typical feminine things to be a heroine. That's so sexist people. Not all heroines need to be a delicate flower! I love how she plays the fiesty roles. Way to make someone feel inadequate as a female!

Ya she was miscast as Roop. Instead of saying she is not heroine material! That sounds wrong.

Don't color her as a victim when she is not...

^She is not a victim (Kjo spoonfeeds her I know) but saying she is not heroine material because she lacks feminine adaa' or smthg is sexist. Why not focus on her miscasting by Kjo? Talk about her fit as the character? Her inability to act even as Roop. All good. But writing her off as a heroine/lead actress for lack of grace is not acceptable criticism of her work.

it is not miscasting, it is lack of preparation and being surrounded by chamchas who praise you even when you're doing meh work.
Alia is a good actor, but the stupidity of her can be sensed and delusion is too high nowadays.
the constant trying to ape tall and top model type actress is clearly embarrassing.

^I don't know. Maybe I am projecting on her but all this talk about someone lacking elegance or whatever...seems wrong...she is short, has a baby face, not typically stunning looking...but she is a good actor...she can't change her physical attributes...so maybe she feels inadequate about her appearance...hence the aping! I would like people like her to embrace themselves and give a F to conventions! Not too long ago tall heroines were such a big issue and now suddenly being short is a problem!

When a role requires one to be graceful which she isnt, its a fair criticism. Nobody said she isnt graceful enough to do those dulhaniya movies lol. She is miscasted as Roop as she lacks the grace and elegance with which the role should have been carried. Its a period specific criticism. How's that unacceptable. Kuch bhi.

^Well I read the comments earlier. It seemed people were writing her off as a heroine altogether. It didn't seem period specific to me. Maybe I misread. :-)

Pardon me for bringing dp into this but what grace does she have as rani padmavathi ? She looked horrible in that character...atleast alia is admitting that she lacks adaa of yesteryear heroines..which shows she knows what she lacks which is great...
