Not really. It is always his forte and he wanted to do BM and Padmavat ever since Devdas 2002. Jodha Akbar came in 2008.

The next day Kjo claims that Kalank is an ode to SLB

and you are asking what is so great?

i think everyone will want to work with him, he is a big director, even if I don't like his work much.
But this all threads with theories about Alia's movies being audition for SLB are knee jerk.

Being in an SLB movie is not some kind of achievement according to me because you just need to be a gorgeous face.. He don't care about anything else.. His earlier muses are an example..If one was an OTT actress(I still love you the most Ash) , the other one is expressionless most of the times..He only cares about aesthetic aspects of everything.

This I agree with! ... SLB and his success isn't worth denying .. but it's also true his movies lack "soul" and reason is him prioritizing superficiality over substance!
