Total Dhamaal Has Good To Decent Opening

Total Dhamaal had a good to decent start of around 25% with mass centres opening to good numbers. The overall opening is less than last weeks Gully Boy but that is because Gully Boy released on Valentines Day. If we take out that factor then both films have taken a very similar opening.

Total Dhamaal could have done with a more funnier trailer and better music, the latter has really let the film down and hit music could have added 10-20% to this opening which would have made it a good opening. Still it will a healthy opening day number considering the film does not have much for the metro youth and is more depending on families and kids in the big metros which do not come out on Friday morning.

The film will have to show an upward trend on Saturday which is more difficult for a film which opens well in mass pockets as these dont grow much on Saturday. But it will be a must for Total Dhamaal as the day one will be decent not not big. The last film in the franchise opened at 7.56 crore nett but that was a long time back in 2011. All the Dhamaal franchise films have seen middling success theatrically but have been huge on television and now it remains to be seen if this one can do the job theatrically.
