Total Dhamaal had good collections on day one with 16-16.25 crore nett which is the second biggest opening day of year after Gully Boy but that was a Valentines Day release and if we discount that factor then Total Dhamaal becomes the top opener of 2019.

The film has scored big in mass markets all over with places like Rajasthan, CI, CP Berar, Nizam / Andhra, Bihar and Gujarat all recording similar numbers as Simmba and that film had the brand value of Rohit Shetty who has so many mass hits behind him and on top one super hit song whereas the music for Total Dhamaal was a dud.

The opening day is also the best Ajay Devgn non holiday opening day beating Bol Bachchan by a considerable margin. The cast really on had Ajay Devgn as the others hold little value at the ticket window today. The cast and the genre meant the film had little for the metros so Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore had limited collections. Mumbai was reasonable but Delhi city was disappointing and Punjab also remained low.

Total Dhamaal has a solid footing and now needs to build a little on it with mass circuits remaining steady an the big metros going up on Saturday. If this happens then it have a very strong Sunday.

And the biz escalates on Saturday for #TotalDhamaal. Given the trends so far, and booking for evening and noon shows, a strong day two is on cards for the film. Poised to cross the Rs 20 crore mark, setting base for a Rs 25 crore plus Sunday! Reports for now suggest a HIT Film

Why choose non-holiday as release date? Why release during examination period? A section of the industry was doubtful. But the makers of #TotalDhamaal stuck to their decision... And the audience verdict says it all... Big growth on *Day 2* indicates public is in with #Dhamaal.

Total Dhamaal showed solid growth of around 25% on day two to collect 20 crore nett apprx. This is very good growth for this film as some areas opened very well on day one and those are pretty flat on day two. The jump has come in places like Mumbai, Delhi, Punjab and Mysore where collections were on the average side on day one.

The families in the metros and A centers have come in a big way on day two and Sunday should see further improvement, On Sunday the likes of Rajasthan and Gujarat should again gain the momentum with huge growth as single screens record high occupancy.

Total Dhamaal has collected 36 crore nett in two days and seems to be heading for the biggest weekend of the year so far. It could also emerge the first clean HIT of this franchise as the first two were average runners theatrical and were liked immensely after release with strong satellite showings. This one may be getting some goodwill of that. The business of weekdays will confirm if this film become a HIT or not.
