So stating the universal truth that Devdas had overexaggered performaces and SLB's newer movies have a much less exaggerated palette atleast for the ladies is somehow pitting Deepika vs Aishwarya and Madhuri and turning the conversation. Great 😆

As if bringing SLB's other movies in a Devdas thread for the sole reason of implicitly praising one's favorite was steering the thread towards a great conversation.

Aish Vs Madhuri in Devdas was the original theme of the thread. Aish was already pitted against Madhuri for that matter.

Digressing the thread by calling BM and Padmaavat subtle and nuanced for praising their favorite and then discussing how DP is the most celebrated Bhansali heroine and has raised a bar (of course a bar in being wooden) was speaking a universal truth.

On top of that cry foul and point fingers at others!!! GRR...EAT.

Not a popular opinion (i know) but Aish is Devdas for me

Devdas was my first bollywood movie, and Aish introduced me to that so yep Aish over Madhuri and SRK. I totally loved the Deva scene (call it naive or amateur viewer or watever really😊) and for me it belonged to Aish.

I liked both Madhuri & Ash, but the movie as a whole didn't appeal to me

I have seen Dilip Kumar's Devdas 3-4 times with my father & the new one only once. For me 2nd Devdas beats both K. L Sehgal's & SLB's.

I loved the acting of all 4 - Dilip Kumar as Devdas, Suchitra Sen as Paro, Vyjayanthimala as Chandramukhi & Motilal as Chunni Babu.

There were no gaudy costumes & Havelis/sets with unbelievable amount of doors & glass windows. The sets in B&W were so simple. The whole focus was on their expressions not on fickle things.

For me it was Aish. I love the Deva scene at the end. She owned that climax scene. I'm not a big fan of Aish but Devdas is one movie where I really like her.
