I am a bit apprehensive about Takht. Its KJo. Actually apprehensive about 83 World cup too because both Azhar and MS Dhoni were bad movies.

Gully Boy 6th Day Box Office Collection, Ranveer-Alia starrer stays Strong on Weekdays

Expectedly, the much-anticipated Gully Boy has registered a fantastic business in the extended opening weekend at the box office and set a solid base. Now it is running on weekdays and showing a strong hold across the country despite a normal drop in footfalls.

Starring the very talented & versatile actors Ranveer Singh & Alia Bhatt, the offbeat musical drama has got succeed to hit the target right and received mostly positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience. The crackling chemistry between the leading actors is being praised by all the viewers.

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy opened on an excellent note and registered the highest opening of the year so far with 19.40 crores on Thursday. On Friday, it faced a significant drop but still managed to remain strong and collected the amount of 13.10 crores.

Over the Saturday & Sunday, the film attained the pace again and did the business of 18.65 crores & 21.30 crores respectively. After the 4-days extended weekend, the total collection of Excel Entertainment's production was recorded at 72.45 crores from 3350 screens nationwide.

On Monday, Gully Boy recorded a decline of 33.97% as compared to Friday and minted the amount of 8.65 crores. Then on the next day i.e. Tuesday, with a further drop, it bagged the amount of 8.15 crores and raised 6 days total collection to 89.25 crores nett at the domestic box office.

"We improvised most of the stuff on the paper itself. But Ranveer is a Bombay boy. He was totally into it. You can see it from his energy and the way he portrays the character. He was just there, he gave a lot of lines. He gave that "Abhi koi aur batayega main koun hai?" and things like that. He was deeply involved in the film.

Watched Movie and loved it murad simplicity And all other characters were well written Alia Was Good Too idont Get why Some here saying sidharth over shadow Ranveer Idont think RANVEER role was shy and innocent guy Here mc shair Was shown like that sid did good acting tho but not over shadow Ranveer at All sply poems on Murad His eyes was Speaking His talentWon in Last sid also said Ranveer was his mc shair offscreen he help him alot says Alot about Ranveer

Is the movie really so long? I don't think so. I actually felt the movie is much shorter than few films like My name is khan. I think Gully boy is filmed with lot of content that made it appear like that. Frankly, i wanted more.

Before I write my review I will ask that people refrain from calling me a troll or that I have ulterior motives. I have just seen the movie and I am just simply sharing my thoughts and I am going to be unbiased as possible Jokes and Trolling apart!

The films biggest asset, highlight and plus point is ofcourse Ranveer Singh. He elevates the script and breathes life into his role. He conveys so much through his eyes that in some scenes he pierces into your soul! Murad is a deeper verision of whatever he played in Lootera. Problem with Lootera is Ranveeer was mumbling half of his dialogues and he sounded unclear. Here you can see how much he has truly improved.

I have no problem admitting that Ranveer is the best from our generation. Sky is the limit - no pun intended.

Ofcourse as we all know the music is good too. I wouldnt say its 100% proper rap but according to Bollywood standards its good enough.

I just have one problem with the movie is that I felt somewhere that it lacked overall impact. If it wasnt for Ranveers terrific performance that hid all of this it would be glaringly obvious! All of the conflicts in the movie are addressed...but theyre not...explored properly. Its hard for me to explain because I cant put my finger on it. But the film is NOT a masterpiece, its not "the film of the decade" ...The film lacks layers...

I think one issue I have with the film is how easily everything is for Murad. He easily finds Mc Sher who easily gets help from him, he easily gets Sky...his videos easily trend, he easily wins the rap battle. Its just not realistic. Althought they show him as a poor/struggling person...his overall journey in the film is way too convenient and easy. Even though he wins the battle in the end...how did he end up having his own concert? He became that big so easily? 😆 Sorry Zoya you didnt work for me!

I was not impressed with the rest of the cast. Everyones going ga-ga over MC Sher - whoever the actor is was strictly average. Making faces and moving your hands in a hip hop manner doesnt make you a good actor.

Alia Bhatt has not done anything different that what shes done in the past. Her crying scenes can be copy and pasted from Raazi...her bindas attitude scenes can be borrowed from Badri of Humpty. And that weird Mumbai-wannabe accent she had was awkward and unauthentic. It just sounded really forced.

Infact more than Alia and MC Sher id say Ranveers parents in the film did a better job! Even Kalki shined in her small role too.

Overall, its Ranveers show all the way, and the film is only worth it for him and thats it.

Ranveer is 10/10...the film is 6/10 for me.
