I feel TAKHT is his 'experimenting' .. to see if he can get into it, so it is, IMHO, a risk... but on Brahmastra he lets Ayan do the work...so there he doesn't risk as much YET he announced a trilogy.

So he must be SUPER SURE Brahmastra is going to be a hit.

He didn't announce a trilogy with Ranveer. SO he 'knows' his talent as director of historicals is doubtful.

Re: Tiger (age 28): was he in the first Baaghi? Or did he take over someone else? Sorry I am not sure.

His movie with Hrithik might do really well, because there's a lot of goodwill for him..IMO.

I like Tiger as an action star. He is not an actor-actor, not truly..IMO.. More of a dancer/action star.. I'd say.

Also.. other trilogies are Varun's.. Ranbir's .. pretty sure Ranveer's SIMMBA will get a follow up, too.. due to its MASSIVE success.

Ayushman -age 34- might not make trilogies but makes movies with similar themes- and quirky ! He's choosing so smart! He is 34 ( younger than 36 yo Ranbir, older than 33 yo Ranveer, wow!?) , so he is making sure his choices are PERFECT and give him longevity and increased BO success.

RE: Ranveer(age 33) : he is doing a small movie in Gully Boy- budget is like 20-30 cr.. so let's not compare it with huge budget Brahmastra, Shamshera, Varun's historical or even Ranveer's own Takht. If he does 50-60 or 90 cr he's got a BB lol.Most probably this is like October- critical acclaim but no big earnings.He only has GB this year, so he will not top the list . Wish he did more movies in 2019- a rom com or something. Relive '83 will be a hit- has to. Takht- I reserve judgment.

Re: Varun (age 31): He is doing well considering he is one of the youngest amongst them...ABCD3 will be commercially viable I think. I think he proves to be a producer's son: mostt of his movie choices are good , viable BO success. Wish he did something like Badlapur again, that's his movie that I truly loved.

Re:Ranbir (age 36) Brahmastra HAS TO BE a BB. No way karan would go for a trilogy without making sure 1st installment is super duper and greatly received. He knows something .

Shamshera- it's a toss , as YRF has done a few missteps with big movies, big announcements ( see TOH and many more).I think Adi lost the plot. 😕

Luv Ranjan - whether Ranbir does it or not.. is a movie I do not care about. Sorry, not my thing, rom coms.. or men evolving due to help or GF ..realising their path.Thought Ranbir will stay away from same old stereotype.

Re : RKR (age 34) Rajkumar is doing his thing, I thnk he's been at the top in 2017, but his 2018 didn't impress me, Stree was good but not the super duper extra movie they are trying to sell it as.His other movies were so -so, IMO.Not sure about his next projects but if he chooses great stuff- like Trapped, Omerta, Newton..he'll be back winning .

Iss forum per toh RS hi jeetega 😆 ...I will root for Ayushmaan and RKR

Stree was the BIGGEST hit of 2018 in terms of ROI, followed by Badhai Ho

Ayushmaan had 2 big hits running in theaters at the same time

Im looking forward to films by these 2 young actors

@bold: Agreed.. Kjo's script sense, commercial viability of films business and marketing acumen is stellar. I trust Kjo's instincts more than Adi Chopra. If Takht was an Adi Chopra movie/YRF I would have been worried tbh. Kjo and Ranveer's excitement for this project makes me think this is going to be a good movie. The only downside I can think is that with so many period movies releasing in 2019-2020 audiences may get bored of them by the time Takht release.

If Takht does well it benefits Kjo more than Ranveer as he the producer and director. He could showoff to the world that even he can pull off a period movie. I don't know why fans think Kjo would sabotage his own movie just to ruin Ranveer.

It's interesting how both Ajay and Akshay have slowly started doing age appropriate roles and content based films. I think both of them are the only ones from the 90's who are doing rhis fine balance of mass/content films.

For a long time, they hadn't gotten credit. They weren't mainstream. But even in the background, they did pretty well. Held their own.

I wish someone would make a movie about teen kids and issues come up with it. SRK, Amir, Ajay, Akshay -- anyone can play father role with Juhi, Kajol, Madhuri, Rani or Vidya in mother role. SRK would be great as middle class father cribbing over his kids.

There are tons of subjects that BW hasn't touched yet, sirf biopic biopic kare ja rahe hai.

That is the truth which this forum will deny so they can lecture abt srk and his movies but THAT is the ground reality

I too feel there's a lot of negativity around Shah's brand. Everything started crumbling after that intolerance comment. Its all very sad. But at the same time his bad scripts don't help. He needs to do a patriotic movie. Bas. Successful hone liye aaj aur kuch nahi chahiye. The climate is so political right now that if he shows that side he can comeback. Ekbar audience see your patriotic side no critic can touch him. Like even a criminal like Salman has found the magic formula and he's using it for Bharat.
