He always spoke about having an upper middle class lifestyle. Never said he is poor.
Never.

Exactly.
Holidaying in US/Sri Lanka. going to Uni abroad. going to some good gym or crashing parties does not equate with funding a movie , which I supposed would cost 10-20 crore... but yeah.. any middle class kid that goes to US Uni or has some holidays abrioad CAN fund their movie? Okay , lol... wish it was true!!! ( why he had to crash them parties if he was a 'true blue' nepo? whyw asn't he invited properly? why Anil/Sonam never mentioned him/knew his details.. if he was SUCH A CLOSE relative?)

I don't think it should matter at all...None of this should or will take away from the fact that he is an excellent actor and a hardworking one at that! Everything else is just fluff people try to throw at him just because they don't want to accept his success...Its okay...I hope he keeps on working harder and harder and makes good cinema, because it seems that's all matter to him!😃

He is so fluent in English yet when he plays a Simmba I believe in that moment that he has poor command over the language. His ability to switch languages and accents is as incredible as his ability to change looks.

His Marathi accent as Simmba is so different from his mawali bambaiya style in Gully Boy or his Puneri Marathi in Bajirao Mastani. His chaste Urdu in Padmaavat to his Gujarati in Ram Leela to his Delhiwala accent in Band Baaja Baarat are near perfect.

He is as naturally gifted as he is hard working, an incredible combination.

So middle class Indians from 90s could go on testy
Vacations to USA, Europe, Singapore. Go so same gyms as BW Stars, pay for US uni fees. While crying about not having enough money.

I hope blind stans can see how plain stupid this looks.

He didn't crash the yrf party. Duh... he made that up
And budget of BBB was under 10cr... certainly daddy could have managed that.

But I can see how some people manange to look past this just like they have forgotten abt the so poor I could only afford two shoes.

No one is taking away his achievements, it's just that the rags to riches story he's trying to sell... yes not buying it.

That BW parody account on twitter Odshek, he tweeted about all this and his daddy funding his movie and it got a lot of traction, no wonder rs felt compelled to address it, just like he blocked several people questioning his sob stories.

Anyway... lagay raho... it's very obv his stan brigade doesn't want to listen and would prefer to be blind and deaf when someone mentions all these inconsistencies...

@bold:One thing nobody can be blind and deaf about is the actual product. I mean the acting capabilities..Like I said, all else is just fluff, isn't it? Because at the end of the day, we know Ranveer because he is an actor and if he is able to deliver on that end, as a movie fan,I don't think I should complain! 😊

👏 So well said.
And that^^ is the reason I like him. His excellence in acting.
I know people in forums like to bash anyone they dislike for no reason and have their faves but sincerely, for me, I admit: NO ONE in Bollywood impresses me as much as Ranveer Singh. Make of it what you wish - it could be that his role choices are to my taste ( historical hero Bajirao, negative mad but oh so cunning & entertaining Khilji, the dualistic cop SIMMBA getting changed by life, the quiet Lootera man, the bro from Gunday, the aspiring BBB guy, the uninhibited lover of Ram Leela, the rich Mehta kid with a wild streak of DDD...the 'soon to be' rapper from the Gully) but I have always seen him as the one to watch out in BW (yes, I only started paying attention to him from Bajirao, but what a performance that was!). Not dissing others and I understand some might not like him or have another favourite, but I think Ranveer has shown ample range and capability to morph into a character truly wonderfully.
It could be a generational thing, too- as in, I relate to him the most because he is younger than other great Indian actors people might want to point me towards.
Also - in my opinion, if he was in Hollywood he'd be a megastar too. I also think he is given only a few roles(especially earlier after BBB, I think he got few roles and not the 'top picks') as ..well.. this is nepo/cronyist BW. IF he was given more roles we'd have already had a LOT more great choices.
He just eats his role ( mostly..Kill Dill is not my thing, nor is his Befikre) and gives me joy to watch him totally transform- even in roles of movies I don;t want to watch TBH. I appreciate his process.. his mind.. his elocution and his attitude towards women and general behaviour (minus the funky OTT dress style lol).. his kindness and 'kid-like' enjoyment to his BW 'experience'.😆
I liked this interview. It reminded me yet again why I love the Actor Ranveer, but also the Human Ranveer.
