Shahid who has such a small frame that he cannot play Rajput King, I just wonder how come same Shahid looked massive in Kaminey's racing scene where he raced along with the horses...Thats my buddy is called camera angle.. I was a mass comm student & I know how camera works..

And wasn't it SLB who said Ratan & padamavati are heroes of film & he will not disrespect Indian Rajputs by making them any less significant? Forget Ratan also, what they did to the titular character, Padmavati? A good film is not abt polishing & putting your whole soul in one character. When you take 3 talented actors & promise to deliver an epic saga you need to take care of each character..SLB didn't give any depth to his Ratan & Padmavati..The way he portrayed khilji was also more drago thn Khilji...Batman''s character was not compromised coz of Joker.

SLB was also the one who said it will be the role of lifetime for Shahid..Does this statement implies that Shahid should know that SLB will backstab him..Leave the tinted fandom glasses for a minute & tell me did they not written Ratan's character poorly? But no shshid should have known that his character will be sissy even when at the time of signing him, SLB promised him a wonderful role..And dare he gets pissed coz of this..

in slb's eyes it must hav been a great role for shahid, its slb's film so he is gonna think everything in it is gonna be great, he wasn't gonna say to shahid that the role isn't the best but u shud do it anyway, coz slb must hav thought it was a role worth doing

if the same would have done with Ranveer what would you say?? He was not there for a cameo, he was also happy when he signed..Leave even screentime, it was very clear SLB didn't give 2nd thought about Ratan or Padmavati..He is a director & all but you simply cannot tell an actor at time of signing that it will be an awesome character when you won't even nourish the character properly...And the title itself never portrayed that it isis Khilji saga so what meatier role?
Shahid is not a bad actor but god Ratan was sissy character thanks to SLB & dont say that's how he was in history coz even Khilji was far from truth

PS - I am not & will not bash RS or any other actors coz I know it is not their fault, the whole fault is of SLB..Best characters were definitely written in Sholay..Every director should learn from that movie that how even small roles can become epic characters with good writing & nourishing😳

I agree the character graph of padmavati and ratan was choppy in the film, he may have shot the scenes but they were poorly edited out. the love story, the best song was cut, the scenes in the palace (there were't any) there was no story for ratan and padmavati, just filler to set up khilji scenes. any bollywood movie to have repeat value has to have a well fleshed out story, screenplay, padmavati was about just grandstanding the character of khilji and that was so obvious in even the costumes chosen, with the high crowns and shoulder pads for khilji while the slim pajamas for ratan. more so than the grandstaning of khilji, i was pissed off at slb for using deepika for all the publicity and not giving her a role. but why should she say anything, the paisa is coming to her household.

Saw bits and pieces of the episode and - I liked how blunt he was about not really having an equation with most of bollywood. Sure, he has his own set of insecurities , is obviously bitter about the subtle snobbery he has encountered in the past - but I think it is very difficult to not succumb to the pressure of fitting in and becoming this socializing-groupie especially when you are introverted - you end up being a neither-here-nor-there wannabe. Yes, bollywood is now not a place where one producer or director can screw your career - but still - Shahid has come a long way in his career and secure about his own talent and place in the industry to be able stick it to Karan. He also seems content with his personal life.
I don't completely agree with Shahid's opinion on Padmavat though. The problem wasn't the screen time or anything. SLB might have gotten more indulgent with Khilji's role but - a flamboyant eccentric character will almost always overshadow a subdued, sober one. Be it a Khilji or even a Veronica from Cocktail or Vicky's role in Marmarziyaan. So I am not really sure what he was expecting from the reactions . The person who actually got a raw deal was DP. I think more than how the role turned out, he was upset with not getting the same exposure or publicity - which SLB, Ranveer and DP did as a trio - and the latter two as a couple.

I can understand understand Shahid being protective of Ishaan but Ishaan will have his own experiences and equations with people. It might not be the same as Shahid's . Let him go through it and make his own judgements. Ishaan was clearly uncomfortable during the whole janhvi AV segment and some of Shahid's comments were downright rude and could be construed as below-the-belt : especially about Janhvi not being special and wondering how often Arjun is around her. He probably realized he went a bit overboard though and tried to pull it back by saying all brothers are like that with sisters and that he would like Janhvi to date Ishaan.

I actually loved Shahid's answers as he was more frank than he was on earlier seasons of KWK. The way he gave back to Karan where Karan thought he is so right in reading criticism on social media and learning from those comments while Shahid said that people who want to talk shit do talk shit and one should not let it affect his mind was simply fab. Karan had to eat up his words and I just applaud him for that 👏

Shahid has really matured a lot and he was honest about his feelings regarding Padmavat. Khilji was simply given more importance than Padmavati herself and IMO none of the actors gave their best and Deepika was the weakest link even though at first I thought Shahid would be one as he did not have the persona of a Rajput but still he acted well. Deepika under-performed while Ranveer over acted. All three should have been given equal screen space which they did not get.

Shahid was answering for Ishaan as even I noticed that Ishaan was too nervous and did not know what to answer. He got stuck later on which is obvious since it was his first time on KWK. Shahid was just being quite protective about Ishaan like every other brother. He later even said that Arjun is talking like any other brother would for his sister like even I do.

I loved how Shahid on purpose lost the last game to make Ishaan win. That was just aww 😳

Padmaavat was all about khilji. Those who say that Shahid missed his chance to prove himself its all bollocks. Shahid has done better films and better roles than Ratan Rajput.
There was nothing to prove. He was given much less screentime, rubbish dialogues and made to look like a sissy who had no brains. Padmavati's role was also bullshit. She had nothing to do except jump in the fire at the climax or deliver dialogues with glassy eyes. Padmaavat was nothing but a display of slb's fondness for RS. This nobody can dare deny.

Somebody also mentioned about Jim Sarbh. I would say Jim Sarbh had a better character sketch than Ratan Rajput. His role was interesting. There was nothing interesting about Ratan Rajput or Rani Padmavati's character. There were both one dimensional.

I did appreciate Shahid's honesty, but he really annoyed me by talking over Ishaan all the time!!! I really wish I could have a better chance to get to know Ishaan, almost like Shahid wanted to censor everything he said and overprotectively so.

Just finished watching the episod. Ishan is sweet and could have won the rapid fire if Shahid let him answer on his own. Shahid literally put words in his mouth on that nepotism question and Karan fired back that he is also a product of nepotism. Poor guy, he was kinda embarrassed.😆
