I just came back from the Cinema.
I am Tamil and can't speak or understand Hindi so was dependent on German subtitles (the subtitles were quite bad). I went with an heavy cold as I didn't want to miss movie and for the first time went all by myself.
And I don't regret it a one bit.
I loved the movie. But I am honest. It was because of Ranveer. It was fully his movie. Even though there had been a positive response to the movie from the critics and in social media, I still didn't have many expectations because I thought masala movies can only be made well by South Indian industries.
But I was positively suprised how much I like it.
I am honest. I had my doubts if Ranveer could pull of a police role in a masala movie. Not all actors, no matter how talented they are, can pull off a police role. Because you need a mass aura, a coolness, swag that not everybody has.
The trailer and the video songs were underwhelming but Ranveer outdid every expectations. He was amazing as a cop. He lived the role. Now I am sure that they underplayed the trailer so the viewers would be more captivated by Ranveer.
I liked the first half but I love the intensity that Ranveer had in the second half. Nobody can be as intense as him.
The cinemas wasn't full but he had captivated every one who was in the cinema hall. They laughed and clapped and enjoyed every minute of the movie.
I thought the story was ok, nothing new.
I wished that the female lead could have been a memorable role.
If I had they chance I would watch it again for Ranveer.
