As good as this sounds I am tired of seeing him doing these biopics. His next 3 are again semi- biopics with Divine's life story being the inspiration for GB, then Kapil Dev in 1983 and finally Dara Shikoh in Takht. I want him to do a slice of life film or a pure romance or even a thriller, a smaller project rather than a big one. But Ranveer's thought process is very different nowadays. He said in a recent interview that he only wants to work in films which people would want to see on the big screen, so by default he will pick up the projects which are larger in scale.

Well initially there were reports that Ranbir will play Sam Bahadur, and now it's Ranveer, Chalo koi baat nahi congrats to Ranveer, a great role, probably career defining role.

That's weird since Gullyboy seems pretty indie to me.

He said that moving forward this will be his criteria for choosing a film apart from the story. He also said in an interview that he signed 1983 and Takht on his own without consulting his team, like he used to do before, because he loved the story.

He seems so excited about Gully Boy though. So if a smaller scale film excites him I don't think he'll turn it down. Maybe for every 2 big films he'll choose a smaller film. But I also got the vibe that he wants movies that will entertain the masses. In RK's interview with Anupama around Sanju time he also spoke about entertaining the masses. I guess since the Khans can't do it forever the younger lot are taking on the responsibility of doing it.
