SRK and Anushka really need to stop working together. They have literally nonexistent chemistry. 😳

First of all, we no longer live in times where people will take any bullshit film for the sake of some megastar or whatever. The content is what we seek for. Especially when we live in a era where media has expanded so much with its content. We can access content from webseries, Netflix Originals, Amazon Prime, Hollywood movies, Korean dramas or movies, regional movies, etc. The medium of entertainment has definitely expanded and is continuously growing. Out off all the good options and variety of good content we have to watch, why would anyone choose to WASTE hard-earned money on something that is below-par? For some actors who were ruling for the past 2 decades? NOPE. We have more options and stardom or name is just not gonna cut it anymore.
OT: Coming to Zero as a movie, I was never interested especially when I saw SRK with Katrina and Anushka. SRK and Katrina have absolutely zero chemistry. By far the worst. And a very close second or maybe even on the same level is his chemistry with Anushka. Anushka was BAD with her cerebral palsy portrayal (mockery). SRK was good with what he was given because this is a very 'SRK' kind of role. This was however one of Katrina's better performances as an actress. She was consistent with her portrayal of her character and was convincing UNLIKE Anushka whose portrayal was making me cringe. Anushka was looking like she was 'trying' to act like someone with cerebral palsy and making a mockery out of it instead of looking like someone who actually has cerebral palsy. Disappointing.

Nobody will come to see a 2-3 hour film to see some nonsense about going to Mars mixed with people with half-ass 'love stories'. People are not stupid. If the content doesn't resonate with the masses, they have other options now.

The Khans should really look into the content of a film going forward and try to take up risky or even older characters. This "trying- to- be-a- hero" is not wirking on them especially because they are over 50 and are aging so the team spends mire money doing VFX on their faces and bodies to make it look somewhat believable. Like STAAAHP. They have ruled for over 2 decades as heroes so I'm sure they are set for the next few generations financially so why not just focus on the art and craft itself over going for big-budget films with a crap storyline.

After seeing the panauti Zeeshan meme, it struck me that the real panauti could be Anushka. She seemed to be part of the worst movies of most top directors from some time now isn't it? Anyways she was the most cringeworthy part of the film even though I expected SRK to beat her in that. But surprisingly Bauua was endearing despite being a jerk and SRK has a huge contribution to that. Aafia despite being ditched, I never felt bad for her at all. I had some kind of sympathy for Babita even but not for Aafia. The worst is the acting! She was inconsistent throughout. So does she really have speech delay or just trying to talk in a weird voice modulation, I don't know. At places she spoke so fluently like a normal human being. And even at climax she spoke without the weird modulation. It was like Anushka saying those lines and not Aafia. Maybe ALR could have worked on second half and casted Kangy as Aafia, I feel like it would have done much better. This role really exposed Anushka's limited range as an actress. Like DP, Anushka is also overrated here in the forum.

Anushka is definitely over-rated like Deepika. Both these actresses sometimes give horrendous performances depending on the director they are working with.

There are very few actresses who are consistently good even in bad films like PC or Kangana.

In retrospect I'm so glad Sonam and/or Kangana weren't part of this movie.

Well I kinda don't hate Sonam now but I honestly don't think she would have done well too. Tbh I felt shocked that after TWMR(also it's a pity) ALR didn't think Kangy would do justice when apparently he had wanted DP initially and settled with Anu. He could envision two average actresses doing it but not Kangy. Heck was even PC in the running? 😕 Don't know what ALR saw in Anu to cast her. 😕

She's wrapping up The Zoya Factor and is planning to on Battle For Bittora. I don't think she's pregnant though.

I think ALR would have been able to extract good performance for Sonam. Maybe she'll have fit in Katrina's role ?

From what I gathered things went sour between ALR and Kangana but I don't know the actual status of their equation as of now.

Maybe ALR didn't think either Sonam or Kangana were a fit for these roles? Maybe he thought he was stepping up in taking in Anushka (instead of Deepika) and Katrina ? Maybe SRK was in fact behind the casting?

The latter wouldn't surprise me as we know his mentor/mentee relationship with both Deepika and Anushka and Katrina usually get along well with people in the industry.

I was disappointed that ALR didn't seem to think about Sonam and Kangana for his big ticket movie when they worked with him before he became big -they were in fact part of the process of his succedding.

But oh well, the movie seems to be ALR's worst so I'm glad my two favs weren't part of it in fine.
