BOI: Kedarnath is a surprise success of 2018

Kedarnath has maintained pretty well at the box office as it collected in the 2.25-2.50 crore nett range on its second Friday. The drop is less than 20% range from the previous day which is a solid hold. This takes the business of the film to 44.50 crore nett in eight days..

The film is doing its best business in the Delhi NCR belt and is a surprise success of 2018. The film should show good growth over the weekend and have a decent second weekend. The business of Kedarnath till date is as follows.

Week One - 42,00,00,000

Friday - 2,50,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 44,50,00,000 apprx

Movies with youngsters continue to surprise ..Kedarnath another addition to this list

While Oldies have been rejected outright this year .Will Zero buckle this trend next weekend remains to be seen ,

The best part about the success of Kedarnath is that the film completely rode on audience's love when the critics had dragged the film down so harshly ...and not to forget that it had to compete with the mammoth 2.O too ...

The real audience showed the chindi critics their rightful place.

It's good to see such movies perform well at BO with no star value to hold on to otherwise movies used to run on the shoulders of some superstar in a bland movie. So many movies with trashy scripts made whooping money just because the hero was some superstar. I liked the fact that the movies that made money this year were content driven per se Andhadun et al. Congratulations to Kedarnath team. Happy for Sara as well.
