I do remember the rumors that Sara and her mom weren't happy and felt that KJo was shortchanging her in favor of Jhanvi. Masand bringing Dhadak up with Sara and her refusing to comment on it and her sort of awkward "I don't know what you are talking about reaction makes me think that all these rumors surrounding her and Jhanvi's debut are true.

I guess no matter how much we enjoy her eloquence and disposition and even glimpses of her acting it won't change the fact that her family name put her where she is today. Kind of disheartening. But it's now up to her to rise above it and prove that she's belongs here and earn her positions. I think she's on a right track.

Going back to what you said, how in the world did Alia convince KJo to go against Sridevi's wish? I'm wondering if that's common knowledge within the industry and that's why there is a shift in some attitudes towards Alia this year?

she has a personality off screen that's refreshing. she is extremely well spoken in hindi and english

Honestly I don't see what the fuss is about. A lot of girls are well educated, working professionals at her age. If they are interviewed they would probably be just as articulate or self possessed or even better than her.

She is here to act. If she can do that she will sustain. She is not very glamorous so no chances of surviving based on that.

I like her free vibe. But give her 2 years in the film industry and soon she will have to by default become diplomatic and an ass kisser. That is one of the ways of survival here.

You answered your own question @Bold. Because there are so few well educated, articulate or self possessed girls especially on debut from a BW family. When is the last time we saw any of them from BW families have an education and speak well. They seemed over confident and annoying, like the early interviews of her stepmom for instance. Many of them became better, but when they came out most were uninformed, annoying and did not know how to give an interview.

I did not expect to like Sara. I don't think she is particularly pretty and the fact that she has 2 movies back to back made me roll my eyes. I complained we are yet to hear her speak and here she is getting movie after movie. Well the girl opened her mouth and I was hooked surprising me most of all because of how well she presented herself. Now if she can act even half way decent I am a fan and I am most surprised of all.

Thanks for the link. After watching her say other factors had to come together for her to get the part I'm inclined to believe the Jhanvi/Kalank rumors.

I also remember her getting DZ was more dramatic than she's making it sound. Rumors were Gauri wasn't happy about it and was being difficult so much so that KJo threatened to shelve the film. At the time the gossip was Gauri's issues were with style of working or what not, but now I wonder.


@LiveLoveEat, for me personally the biggest thing was Aishwarya saying Alia gets roles handed to her by KJo and how the best scripts just land on her lap. Furthermore, the general reaction to what Ash said was more of an agreement and not any kind of criticism of her statement. Know what I mean? Overall I feel that the vibe around her and about her is changing. I feel like up until last year she was Bollywood's sweetheart but not so much anymore.

Sara being well educated, articulate in her talk.. shows in all her IVs! 👏
