Speaking about the sequel, sanjay dutt revealed that the story will pick up several years after the original. It will now reportedly follow the journey of a young girl (Alia's character) and how she becomes instrumental in helping Dutt's character of a drug abuse survivor, stay alive. Pooja Bhatt had previously stated that the film will deal with the issue of depression and will see Dutt in his "true and present time'. Sadak 2 is scheduled for a November 2019 release.

One thing I can close my eyes and say. Songs from this movie will top the next year and some of them will be heard even after a decade. I don't expect anything less from Mahesh Bhatt's film.

I hope they don't just remake the orignals and make new ones like Aashiqui 2

I hope so too. Aashiqui 2 only borrowed the title. Story was different. Songs were different too.
