Yes she is plain looking... in fact if not for KJO, no-one wouldve given her a second look...

her contemporaries are far beautiful then her, Kirti, Disha, even the new comers are better looking then her...

There is something missing in her face... its like when a dish lacks salt... same way her face lack that something...

as for skin tone, It doesnt matter... I always felt DP n Bipasha look far more gorgeous with their original dusky skin tone...

Bruh Idw to comment on her face. But she was totally hamminh it up in Highway. And Dear Zindagi. Ugh the less said the better. Good movies ruined by a completely mediocre actress

Exactly. Don't want to be mean, but there is something missing about her face. It is not striking and kinda forgettable

maybe its an indian mentality but i live in the west and Skin color is not a basis for beauty at all atleast to me.

Why people have to always assume it's just because of skin colour when someone find a fairer girl prettier.Alia may not have sharp defining features but she has nice skin, pretty dimpled smile and cute face..and importantly even though none of her facial features stands out but none of her facial features are wierd or bad either...so her face looks good in toto...if all the individual features look good the person need not look beautiful because these features has to go along with the face shape..we look at the face overall...so its also possible that a plain girl can look prettier overall than a a girl with better features..for example Alia and Parineeti,Alia and janvi.

Perhaps, but then all of these people would look plain if an army of hairstylists, make up artists, coloring experts, dietitians, professional photographers and lighting expert weren't constantly running after them.

In fact anyone could look like a star with all those resources.

Do u guys realise that u all are fighting over each others' personal opinions which are extremely subjective. What may appeal to me may not appeal to u. I do not find Jhanvi pretty at all, many on this forum think she's gorgeous. Ppl here think Alia is plain, but i think she's far from it. I think the prettiest actress in BW we have now is Sonam. Many may not think so. So what? U guys are fighting over each other's personal opinion. Its like questioning someone about their favourite colour or favourite dish. As ridiculous as that.
