No, I have always maintained Varun is a limited and average actor.
Read my post again, I said he is an average one, capable of giving good to great performance under good guidance.
Never did I changed my stance about him.
I will not call him downright horrible, because that he is not. He has certain child-like charm, so I never got why people hate him. But never did I called him outstanding actor, it is just that I do praise his movie choices/business understanding and work ethnic, and his overall behavior.

Well, he was damn good in October, gave a very sensitive and touching performance.

Before October, I would have called him extremely endearing and someone with solid screen presence. I loved him in ABCD2 and Badri (Sun Saathiya in particular was Varun at his charming best). Post October, I believe he is also a good actor. He was amazing as Dan IMO. I can understand people not liking the film but there is literally nothing to fault Varun's performance. He made you want to give Dan a hug and take him home. Which is something you feel only about certain characters. So yeah, to answer the question, I do think he is a good actor who hasn't done sufficient author backed roles cos his commercial films sell and thats what a lot of people seem to like. This Box Office nonsense is the bane of everyone's existence 😆

Yes he is a good actor. Won't say he is versatile but he is good at what he picks.

He only needs to work on modulating voice according to the character or scene. He has annoying childlike voice.
