I know he draws in an audience and has his strengths in espcially commercial and masala type films

but is he a good actor?

NO! he is a weak actor with horrible dialogue delivery and voice modulation 🤢

I personally feel he can be brilliant actually when he wants, loud comedy is not his forte IMO, but the way he emotes vulnerablity or deadpan comic scenes or even psychotic stuff 😆like Badlapur hammer scene n all, he is pretty good in confrontational scenes even emotes romance with correct intensity & sincerity.

Needless to say I am ardent admirer😆 and genuinely believe he has the best screen presence in this gen, and honestly he hasnt got/done that many author backed roles barring October, Badri & Badlapur...

I think even good actor or bad actor is subjective i dont get what's so amazing about RK and rajkummar that people all the time talk about. Only actor whose acting can make me watch a full movie is nawazuddin in bollywood.

He is not nawazuddin siddique and to become a mass hero u dont need to be a good actor so y bother this term is overrated

varun tries so hard to be like govinda. when govinda did comedy he looked natural. I don't get same vibes from varun. there was nothing special about badlapur. just growing beard and showing constipated looks doesn't make one intense lol! his career will be short like govinda. he is limited

he is like most top actors. In certain roles he does a good job, in other ones he is terrible.

I liked him in Student of the Year and was even waiting for him to have lead roles but I wasn't impressed by his acting afterward. He should work on his voice and his acting.

He was clearly a miscast in Badlapur for example and the fact that he isn't a great actor showed.
