Trade has started calling alia as the number#1 actress after Raazi

Social Media..PC has overtaken her by her biggest margin..to be the most followed indian actress on Insta

and ranveer the one she wants to settle down with and taking things slow to prepare for her wedding..is signing one movie after another

This Industry is brutal..people love you but they also don't take long in forgetting you..

of course she is still hugely popular

.but is all this affecting her popularity and is this a wise decision to just not sign anything at all..?

its been 8 months to Padmavat and she hasn't shot for more than a year now where as all her contemporaries are working left right and centre

Of course I will miss her presence on big screen but I like it that she is doing a break and not doing a movie just for the heck of it. She should enjoy her life too. She should only do a movie if she is convinced about it. She has so many successful movies with some very memorable roles.
I personally think she has achieved the things she wanted to achieve and now she is willing to wait for roles she she wants to do.

Years ago she said that one day she wants her own family and settle down. Maybe she feels that she is in that stage of life. That's her prerogative. Over the years it was clear that she is missing her family and I think it is great that she spends so many times with them this year. I haven't seen her so freely happy and chilled like this year for a Long Time. As a fan I am happy if she is happy and content with her life.

thats becuase she had a movie planned to film during this time which was sapna didi, she gave her dates to that film, but that film got canceled, so i guess she is just trying to find the right project, the director of xxx4 deejay said that deepika is confirmed to be in the movie, so she has that film, now lets see wat hindi film she signs, there are rumours about her considering the masaan directors next

I don't think it's lack of conviction. In her interview with Rajeev last year she seemed eager to do things. He even brought up how Anand L Rai said she's his heroine. That didn't work out but it proves she wasn't lazing around last year. Then there were those shooting delays with Padmaavat which I assume made it hard to sign anything with an unpredictable schedule. With Irrfan getting ill another movie got delayed. The director said recently that as soon as he's well they'll start shooting and since this is a project DP really wants to do perhaps she is waiting to ensure that the project gets priority with shooting dates. In her interview with Rajeev this year when she spoke about what she's looking for she said something like 'once you've tasted chocolate fondant' and in her Anupama interview at Cannes she mentioned wanting something that really excites her. So it appears that she's being choosy. So that's not being lazy. If the scripts she's reading (and she's mentioned multiple times this year that she is reading scripts) don't excite her then what can she do? And since she almost got sued for trying to leave Race 2 I'm gonna assume she learned that announcing something too soon can be an issue. If the earliest she can be on set is next year why make announcements now? She might change her mind on a project. As far as having a presence in the tabloids is concerned she's been quite active on instagram and the wedding is constantly written about. So her PR team probably isn't stressed and there's no pressure for movie announcements.

xxx carnage was a BIG FLOP n india and she received a lot of criticism. she has to work in india and she is not considered a global star. i don't even think chopra is considered a gliobal star anyway just some fans of her keep shouting on rooftoop...padukone's path of career shall be trash if she does one more xxx

Speaking as someone who's watched like 5 of the Fast and the Furious movies XXX was classic Vin Diesel. He's like Salman in a way since you know what to expect. It's your classic one time watcher popcorn film. The movie overall made a profit worldwide so I think that's what she's focusing on. She made friends and had fun so it was a good experience for her. Anyways I thought it was more enjoyable than some of the big BW movies she was in.

Yes! It is affecting her popularity. I know cine-goers who loved DP coz she was so frequently seen in movies that too in different roles, have now started replacing her with Alia who is also in almost every other movie lol.
