Nawazuddin Siddiqui to play Ranveer Singh's coach in '83.

Currently promoting his upcoming web
series Sacred Games with Saif Ali Khan,
Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been approached
to play a pivotal character in Kabir Khan's
'83. This is the second time Nawazuddin
will be seen working with the director after
Bajrangi Bhaijaan, where he played the
colourful reported Chand Nawaz.
Also starring Ranveer Singh as the then
Indian captain, Kapil Dev, '83 is a biopic that
tells the story of India's glorious win during
the 1983 World Cup. A close source revealed
that Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be seen
playing Ranveer's coach in the film and is
very happy to be working with Ranveer
Singh for the film time.
While director Kabir Khan has not made any
official statement about Nawazuddin's role
in the film, he has been gushing over
Ranveer since they launched the title of the
biopic. He said, "As a young schoolboy,
when I watched India win the 1983 Cricket
World Cup I had no idea that from that day
onwards Cricket in India will change
forever. As a filmmaker, for me, the journey
to that win, filled with raw energy and
sheer passion of that young Indian team, is
probably one of the most exciting stories I
have worked on. And it's great to have
Ranveer come on board to play Kapil Dev, as
honestly, I could see no one else for the
role, ever since I started finalising the
script.
