Why on earth were people criticizing her for not being able to speak Hindi again?!
She spoke in Hindi throughout and used words like abhari and shit. Wow. I love this girl. Usually, I see that the interviewer asks in Hindi, but the celeb does not even extend the courtesy of replying in the same language back, which I find highly rude. I have only seen Ranveer speak good hindi from this new generation. Jhanvi is just as good.

I think i know what makes Janhvi different than other star kids. She doesnt have that "entitled" attitude. We have been used to seeing Janhvi in glamourous clothing in the last few years, so we automatically assumed that shes an entitled brat. Her interview has made everyone go...huh? THIS is JahnvI???
I dont want to rile up fan groups - but people like Varun, Alia, Kareena, Sonam...there is an undercurrent of entitlement that is embodied in their personality. They give off the impressions that yes I am a star, I am entiteld to be here and that I am better than you - and they've done that since day one.

Janhvi however, even directly said that some feel this opportunity has been snatched from them. Seriously who says that? i was so taken aback because finally a star has ADMITTED that. When she was talking about olden day actors she stopped herself and said i dont know anything about acting and Im going on and on. I dont even care if she was prepped or not...she seems quite level-headed and realisticl. I didn't ONCE see a "star daughter"

I loved when she talked about Boney and says he makes sounds when he likes something like HMMM.

It is very rare to see someone be so genuine, level-headed but at the same time not be boring. I wish her all the best, and I hope she retains all these qualities. Because Sridevi also never tooted her own horn and never spoke about how great she was.

I know everyone hates Janvhi here and thinks shes the worst actress ever. but my god Sridevi should be proud of how she raised her. I wish she was here to watch that.

This girl has started to grow on me. The first time I watched the trailer, I didn't think much of her. My attention went to Ishaan. However, having rewatched the trailer a couple of times, I could see some of the portions where she did well.
Pertaining to this interview, I did not see pretence anywhere in her answers or her demeanor. This girl seems genuine, not yet sucked in by the trappings of the entitlement that comes with stardom and nepotism. I just wish she won't lose this genuineness and humility when the sheen of stardom would overtake her.

Jhanvi just found a fan in me after his interview.
She seems like a very nice person and very honest.

She wasn't trying to act like something she's not.
She likes old movies and she's not embarrassed to say it... most new gen actresses would never say that, they would be to busy talking about HW movies and what not.

And so sweet what she said about Arjun giving her the best compliment when she was down. It seems like she really loves the support he gives her and looks up to him.

There's this new interview out with India Today in English where she has opened up more about Sridevi and her movies. She has apparently only watched 5 of her films till date and couldn't watch Chaalbaaz when she was young because her mom was getting tortured onscreen. 😆
Waiting for it to be out on their YouTube channel, will post it asap.

Also, I want to point out that even though Jahnvi is getting a lot of attention since this is her debut film, I'm loving Ishaan'd interviews as well wherever available. Both of them have grown on me for the amount of simplicity they bring to the interviews. They just don't act like star kids like SH mentioned above. I'm just waiting for their conversations with more mature interviewers like Anupama or Rajeev or even the fun stuff.

And they don't need to have PR planted stories to keep the leads chemistry in news. It's all there in the film from whatever has been released till now.

When I saw this interview I was reminded of another. There is an interview of Sridevi during English Vinglish in Tamil. Her command of the language which I assume she did not speak regularly for so many years, her not taking for granted the opportunity she got, her humility, her hard work, her willingness to work hard, her professionalism just shone through.
Sridevi had command of multiple languages. She did not go to school but she was a polygot. I see shades of all of that in Jhanvi which is very endearing.

I am very, very glad she did not turn out like Harsh Kapoor and the hubris that is the hall mark of his interviews. I like that Jhanvi talks respectfully of her parents, that she is "pappa and mummy's daughter". She is not haughty enough to say "she is different" just because she went to Lee Strasburg and to think she is all that. She is respectful of her family legacy yet she knows it is a privilege not a right.

She might have been coached to say the right things. But I just don't think you can fake the attitude she has. If she is faking it, she is a much better actress than I am giving her credit for.

I feel the same towards her as an actress like I do with Arjun. I really don't like her acting and feel she can do so much better. But as a human being she seems like a solid person. Much like Arjun. Boney is very lucky to have kids like these.

OMG thank you for mentioning Harsh. He aggravates me so much, he makes my blood boil. Such a elitist entitled pseudo-intellectual he is. Geez. The way he presented himself was awful! I cant believe theyre cousins. Hes just painful. Now he is someone who doesnt deserve any more chances or opportunities just based on the fact that he's a horrible person. Look at Anil Kapoor, so graceful, kind and down to earth...not sure why Harsh is like that but he was an epic fail! Same with murderer Sooraj Pancholi - you can always SENSE shady people like Janvhi said, Sridevi told her - if you're not a good.genuine person the camera is going to catch that! Such profound and relevant words.

I am willing to give Janhvi time to improve herself because she has the right mindset and attitude. She is capitalizing on an opportunity without being ungrateful or arrogant about it. Lets be honest, if we were born in a Film family we would surely be in the field as well. So i'll give her that much!
