Lmao why is this even a question ? Without salman she would've been a poor version of urvashi rautela of that time by doing b grade movies. She should be thankful to him for life.

Katrina does have her own beauty and Charm... so no doubt, that she is at a better position then Daisy Shah and Zareen Khan ... But its obvious that without any acting talent to boast about, she kept getting big big projects ONLY cause of Salman

You can't force the audience to like you the audiences accepted her of their own free will and she made it big, but before that she had to have opportunity for it to come out of B grade films. And that opportunity Salman gave her he provided to her the mainstream platform so yes he was responsible for the initial stages

Salman has supported/dated Daisy, Ellie, Lullia, sangeeta and am sure many more. Not all of his exes are a top actress. Katrina would definitely become a star with or without him. Salman helped her get it early in her career and so yes he has contribution too.

Salman gives her the first push. Later she manages on her own. It was so, in the beginning of her career. Later in recent days, when she hit bottom.

In her early days (after his initial push), she managed on her own, doing movies with Akshay, Ranbir.

If it was any other actress, she would have been written off after the failure of BBD, Fitoor and JJ. Film makers would have said, she has got old and moved on. But TZH success made her bounce back. Now she is getting offers and she is working on them.

It is not a continuous mentoring like KJo-Alia. But still, he is there at the time of need.

Anyway.. if we play the 'shoulda,coulda, woulda' game.. well anything COULD have happened.

What if she didn't meet Salman and met/married an Aamir Khan type actor, that got her acting even better? Maybe she went to HW instead of BW and got herself a super career? (many HW actresses that are mediocre still have successful careers).

Yeah he helped her. But she HAD to have connection to the audiences or otherwise - as someone in thread already mentioned- why aren't all Salman's family superstars? Or all his exes, from Zarine to Daisy, to Lulia?

Well her sustainibility was out in the open when she was dating Ranbir Kapoor but thats another thing that all of Ranbirs girls face that issuewhen with him be it Deepika or Kat!

Yes, there was dislike from Ranbir's fangirls, which could have led to lesser success for her movies.

But also, on the same matter, we could hypothetically believe that the same Salman who has helped her at the beginning might have got mad with her being with Ranbir and thought: why should I support her now? And might have even said to a producer or two: don't sign her.. or don't give her a great role.

Let's not forget Salman's fans , who for a big part were hating on Katrina a lot - this might have also translated to a reduction in audiences for her movies...

Salman I also believe, has a bit of a selfish streak- as in, every ex GF of his is somehow primarily 'his'.(see the banter at Dabanngg tour, where he chastised that presenter Manish Paul for being too friendly with Kat).

This is my angle: he will always have a soft spot for her and help her when she is in distress, but at that point ( probably owing to his dislike for Rishi-Ranbir?) he seemed to act a bit 'dark', like he wasn't happy at all- and this either translated to producers as 'don't help Kat much', or his fans took it as such and refused to attend Kat's movies- which in turn might have resulted in the movies to fail.

As for Ranbir and how he is with the girls he dates... I am going to refrain from making statements.
