I just seen his interview with Anupama and for some reason I felt really bad for him?
Is he really a bad actor? I mean...I always thought he was very good. Infact - dont kill me- I think he's way better than Hrithik. Sure Abhishek cant do a Bang Bang. But theres alot Hrithik cant do either.Infact Abhishek was the only one in MPKDH who acted good and outdid Hrithik.

I think he's done pretty good for himself. He won BSA three years in a row - Yuva, Sarkar, KANK - he did very well in these films. He acted very well in other movies too like Bunty Aur Babli, Bluffmaster, Guru, Dostana, Paa, Raavan, etc

I think he has done the best that he possibly can being Amitabh's son? I mean...I am not an Abhishek fan, and he will always be overshawdowed by his father and wife...but I dont think hes a failure?

He's not a failure if he was some nameless actor who came to BW and made a name for himself. He's not a bad actor when he works hard and he's won some awards too. That is okay.

But he's a failure considering his background. There's nobody who has benefitted from nepotism the way he has. Not a single other person in BW has gotten as many advantages and privileges as he has. The whole game was rigged in his favor. No matter what, big producers and directors kept trying to fix his career. His father, the biggest star in India, made so many movies with him to boost him up. His wife made multiple movies with him to give his career a second chance. Even in his 40s, he's getting another comeback with one of the best producers currently in the business.

The entire industry has tried again and again to make something out of Abhishek. So yes, he's a failure that in spite of that, he's such a useless also-ran.

But why is that a bad thing? I've been told by many on this forum that as long as you can act its okay if opportunities get manufactured for you ? Its okay to use your contacts and abuse your lifelines...because you have talent.

Why is it okay for Alia/Varun to get work cuz their talent but its a bad thing if Abhishek does the same?

he was given more chances than anyone in this industry. everybody tried their best to make him into another Big b.
but even with nepotism he failed.
if he really had it, he would have been lapped. nah...yeah he did good in some movies, here and there, but nah...he is simply a failure as an actor.
in his early movies, if you watch, he is damn awkward...not a hero material at all. you wanna shout: loosen up dude...

I wonder why he didn't try some other profession, especially after not being accepted.
he is still trying...LOL...aakhir kabh takk bhai?

Yes.
Failing to identify that his niche is at humorous roles
Failing to realise he isn't hero material
Failing to do more character roles
Failing to stop movies and try more business

I like him and I hope he gets to do a movie with Rani. That SLB's Gustakhiyan would be a great reunion.
His problem is that (I don't know if he was depressed or lost interest) he became lazy, put on weight that he didn't bother shedding when 6-packs were all the rage, ruffled some feathers when he and Aishwarya didn't invite anyone to their wedding...
He kept doing multi-starrers or starring opposite B-list actresses which didn't do anything to give the illusion that his career wasn't taking such a bad dip.

Then again, let's not forget that while his acting career wasn't anything to boast about at some point, he successfully ventured in some other businesses (production, kabaddi...)

Abhishek was always average in what he did. He was neither the best actor of his gen, nor a good dancer, nor did good action, nor did he try to make the best of the opportunities he got. In short, he was lazy . Plus, he tried to imitate his father a lot (esp his dance style) . All this worked in negative for him. And ofcourse there was the loomig shadow of his father's megastardom and constant comparison with him which he could never match upto.
Comparison with Hrithik is moot. HR had everything that you need to be a superstar in India.. good looks, good acting, charisma, plus his USP.. dancing. Whereas Abhishek had no X factor or USP at all..

So yes, he is a failure IMO.

Is Abhishek really a failure?
Well, even after doing so many lead roles, did he become a Superstar like the Khans, or even Akki, Ajay, Govinda? Nope!!!

Did he even got a "great actor" title like Irrfan, Nawaz, Rajkumar Rao by the critics? Nope!!!

Then he's a definitely a failure.

Even after being in the industry for so long and doing numerous films, he's just an average actor, who made impact in a couple of films. The problem is that he's very stiff and can do only a certain type of roles. He was never a Hero material. At best, he can do supporting roles. I'll put him around the likes of Randeep Hooda.

I can't stand his "acting" even in the films where he's said to have done a good job. He's got the most dull and dreary presence ever and can't act to save his life. Even his so-called landmark movies like Guru, Raavan and Yuva or Bunty Babli..he's plain insufferable. And no, he can't play second lead or character roles either.
The worst part is that he just doesn't quit. he keeps getting some or the other movie and talks about complacency. Like seriously what did you ever have to be complacent about. Better actors like Fardeen and even Zayed is better than him, they quit...but this guy just keeps coming back like a bad penny.
