I liked her mustard saree and the lehengas she wore initially. Didn't know Indian clothes were tacky by definition. Oh yes, the green saree with the updo too. Very exotic.
I find most of her gowns tacky now. The 2017 red Ralph and Russo, that black Ashi studio no., the red Naeem Khan, that aqua green no from 2015, the brown oscar de la renta from 2015-very definition of tacky.

The best one I feel is the red by Ralph
Some of the previous one's are horrible when I look at them now
But still she managed to look pretty

Most of Ash's looks are horrible. She's never had taste or good style. She luckily has a pretty face.

Sometimes even when the gowns are nice, I'm sorry but she brings the whole look down because she hasn't been in good shape for over 10-12 years now. She is not fat but she is flabby and looks soft and pudgy. It just doesn't work with high fashion.

I really don't understand why she refuses to work out for 30 minutes a day and tone up. Her clothes would look a lot better. 😕

She has a horrible fashion sense but who cares about it when you have that perfect face

From 2010 on up her style game has improved. I loved that lilac dress and the white one with florals and red lip stick. 😳

Someone with a little fat looks better than someone too toned and fit.
Aishwarya always looks stinning even when she was fatter.

The kind of gems you read here: "Sonam forced Ash to up her game" 😆

Never mind that Ash's choices improved greatly between 2005-10 before Sonam even debuted on the red carpet. Also, never mind the fact that Ash was the one who really made couture mainstream in Bollywood. Who was wearing gowns to events before she was to Cannes?

I still remember people cribbing with comments like "Why can't Ash wear a sari? Is she ashamed of Indian wear? Blah blah blah". Now no one questions Sonam or Deepika when they were gowns because it is more or less accepted in India, with majority of Indian actresses appearing in gowns even for Indian events, and it was Ash who was the first mainstream actress who sported gowns in a big way and got people used to it.

Ash was doing whatever she was doing for the first time. There was no precedent. At the same time, she was never a fashionista, i.e., she gave two hoots about fashion, and whatever effort she put in was because she had to represent the brand. In fact, she took it so easily, she had no stylist until 2015 and all her choices were a reflection of her own personality (once she chose a gown only because it had pockets and was comfortable for her to wear 😆). Neither did she give two hoots about her weight, which always kept fluctuating - she doesn't ever exercise and she makes no bones about it. And for all the big hoohaa about how she isn't fashionable, she always overshadows those running behind fashion and the latest trends, so it's no big loss :P

Anyway, nowadays I find this scrutiny about stars' style ridiculous because they don't even really decide what to wear, they have stylists and dedicated teams who decide how one's look is going to be like weeks ahead in advance. So no credit to the stars but to the stylists. If stars can be given any credit, it is about how they were able to carry it off, that's all.
