Why is there so few handsome men in bollywood? - Page 3

Firstly, Looks are really subjective.
Secondly, I personally prefer interesting actors over just good looking men.
There was this guy in Bb10 called Jason, a wildcard entry. Extremely handsome and damn what scuplted body. The moment that guy opened his mouth he talked about goats and what not? Stupidity at its peak. Instant turn off.
By that standard, I like Ranveer and Arjun coz these two can are quite humorous off camera too. Even though I don't find them that good looking. Ranbir is charming too and can play character like Bunny very very convincingly. Personally, Ranbir to me is very good looking. This stand up comic called Jeeveshu Alhuwalia worked with Ranbir in Tamasha said in an interview that Ranbir is freakishly good looking in person, I was like Thank God! I am not the only one 😆

It depends on what phase of life you're in. If you're very young and just chilling, a handsome guy that's not successful is fine. But would you want to be married to a guy who has no job and isn't educated and can't provide for the family? 99% of women would not be happy with that. They would dump the most handsome man in the world for a successful, wealthy man.

Men though are different. Even the most successful men in the world are happy being with women who don't work or aren't successful as long as they're attracted to them.

Handsome and middle class is fine for me😛 will live a simple life but I can't marry a guy I am not attracted to...

Same! I have also heard that Ranbir is extremely handsome in real life.

We need actual actors that perform on screen the oens we do are not given much recognition

Women kind of have to be goodlooking...we the people of this forum who talk about feminism and progressiveness demonstrate it now and then too...in this topic about heroes' looks more than one person has spoken about qualites other than outer appeal that matter...but in the topics about heroines and prospective heroines the focus is so much on looks...we keep discussing about who looks better among sara,ananya,tara,suhana,jahnvi,khushi etc so much...our primary condition of welcoming a prospective heroine is that she should be physically attractive...how much do we discuss about who looks better among aryan,ibrahim,ishan etc?wayyy less than it is in the case of girls?

Some people were kind of shocked when priya got more famous on insta than manushi...their posts implied that manushi deserves more popularity and an easier entry in bollywood than priya p varrier who already is an actress...why is this so though?because manushi is prettier and won a beauty pageant?

Anyway it is kind of unfortunate that today's goodlooking actors like SidM and ARK don't have much going on career wise...may be they are not the best actors but personally I like sidM's acting style more than I like varun's as I feel that the latter is kind of an overactor...even though SidM kind of didn't do justice to his role in kapoor and sons either...he spoiled the confrontation between his and ratna pathak shah's character IMO...the contrast was stronger because fawad was in the movie too!

We do need more good looking men though :(...yeh ranbir real life mein itna good looking hai toh onscreen kyun nahi translate hote uske good looks?

You hit the nail on the head! So many excuses for men: confidence, success, etc. But women HAVE to be goodlooking and are constantly pitted against for their looks more than men are...

As another poster very correctly pointed out that the way of the world is to judge women by their looks primarily, and men by their wealth, power, charm etc. Its heartbreaking that even in this day and age, despite more and more women breaking gender barriers and achieving so much, they are still reduced down to their looks. I wish we could break our primitive nature...but alas...i prolly succumb to it just as much as the next person...

OT - ARK, SidM & HR fit the bill for handsome Bolly men. Pulkit Samrat is good-looking too though with an odious personality unfortunately 😕

Eh dont really think this is true anymore. If you look at the most popular actresses and actors now, they're all tending to more relatable and "realistic" looking people, though still groomed to movie star standards. Probably due to the shift in the type of cinema that is excepted.
