It was excellent job for by Varun. We would need to hvae completely different school of acting analysis guidance to call it a bad/misfit performance.

I will be one of the first person to call him a not so good actor, but SS has used all the strength of Varun and flawlessly hid his weakness, and Varun's has given his best performance of his career. There is not even. a single scene where you will feel this is the same OTT irritating Varun. On contrary to ATC, I would say Varun was absolutely suited for this role and was a very good cast.
