Baaghi 2 recorded the 15th highest opening weekend of all time and its the highest ever for a film released in March. Even if you go by historic figures then you have to go back to 2000 when Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge (Salman Khan) took an opening of this level in March. A bumper opening (30 plus level today) has only happened once in March since 1994 and that was Insaaniyat (Sunny Deol, Amitabh Bachchan) in 1994 but that film crashed on Monday.
The film set new highs for the weekend in Mumbai, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI, Bihar, Assam and Odisha for 2018. This was partly because Padmaavat did not release at some places and in some places it was better than Padmaavat. The weekend is on par with Padmaavat despite having a budget which is one third of Padmaavat.
The top fifteen opening weekends of all time are as follows.
