Oh man surfing web pages and waiting for images to load on 33kbps dial-up internet. And then running after video cassette rental places for some movie and then trying to clean the vcr head and fix the tape with a coin.

I only remember life after youtube, because it was such a boon the crappy VCR era and having the tape scratched and messed up and watching flickering images on TV

Yes, that was the time everyone watched TV and read magazines for gossip. Had to listen to the radio for songs. It was more simple then. But I think the internet is great. It has helped with other things rather than Youtube.

I think YT technology is helping millions in their own way.. life b4 yt was like I was waiting for my fav track to play on tv but now we can see our fav songs in a heart beat 😛

Youtube is my favourite place on the internet. I can't imagine life without it now. I have acquired so many new hobbies through youtube-pyrography clay modelling and taking piano lessons. And I was naturally good at drawing in school and used to get selected for competitions all the time but would always do a real shitty job on the final day as I had no guidance and hardly knew how to paint. School art teachers are the worst. They never teach you anything.

Now I've properly learned painting on youtube just by watching artists paint. On to pretty realistic portrait painting. Youtube is great.
