@bold : Madhuri and Renuka were Anupam Kher's daughters, Anupam was Alok Nath's college friend with whom he lost touch later. But Alok NAth raises Mohnish and Salman Khan's characters as they were his Elder Brother's sons.

@red : The situation you are talking about situation can be Madhuri's character bought up by Farida Jalal and Devan Verma in DTPH, who later fixes her marriage with their son Akshay Kumar.

Exactly. They were never in a relationship. Pallavi was a dream. Marrying her daughter in the end was like marrying another version of Pallavi. If Pallavi was alive it would have been weird but she was long gone. Pooja is what is left of her. I am pretty sure many people marry people who look similar or have similar personalities to the love that got away.

Let's put it this way. Say you love Salman Khan. Then he has a son. Khan passes away. You marry the son. What's wrong with that? It's not like you and Salman ever had any relationship. The man did not even know you loved him or you existed. 😆

Anyways it still feels a little weird though. 😆

I guess Chandni was better in that it's more watchable. Don't get me wrong..I watch some scenes and songs from Lamhe regularly just the film is boring. Tbh even Chandni is a collection of nice outfits, scenes and songs. I find this shortcoming with Yash Chopra films. They're not well-rounded stories.

Bold or not, the concept is definitely cringeworthy to me. And I love the fact that Sri had the same thoughts about it.

Also there was an interview where she was asked if she would ever romance a guy on screen in a movie where her daughter also romances the same guy or not, she cringed at that thought too despite the reporter pestering that it's just movie roles and not real blah blah.

👏 Sri had no pretence in her interviews. ❤️

I saw a similar movie last year (western) can't recall it's name but it was about two friends who are divorced and their sons are dating the moms friend. 😆

I found Lamhe cringeworthy like many of the films of the 90s hiding behind pretty visuals and costumes.
The older man, younger woman did not bother me much. Heck, even Edward Cullen is decades older than Bella. But the fact that I was never sure the reasons the Anil Kapoor character liked the daughter. Did he like her for herself or did he like her because she resembled her mom ?
