Hello Hall Of Fame Awards 2018: Ranveer Singh dedicates his Best Entertainer Award to Sridevi!

His last performance as Alauddin Khilji in 'Padmaavat' earned him a lot of appreciation from the critics and the audience. Last night Ranveer received the Entertainer of the Year' award at the Hello Hall of Fame Awards 2018. While receiving the award Ranveer did something so special that touched everyone's heart. He dedicated his award to deceased actress Sridevi.

Ranveer said, "Thank you Hello. Thank you, Sanjay Sir for giving me the opportunity to push the envelope and my craft to showcase my ability as a performer and to create a character that will hopefully be remembered in Indian cinema. Entertainer of the year: It's my first award for 'Padmaavat', first award for Alauddin Khilji. I would like to dedicate this entertainer of the year award to one of the greatest entertainer's of all times Sridevi Ji. Her contribution to Indian cinema is peerless. She will be dearly missed, fondly remembered but her legacy will shine on for those who she has inspired and I am most certainly one of them. So this is to you. Thank you so so much ladies & gentlemen.

Unfair to Compare Janhvi Kapoor With Her Mother Sridevi: Farah Khan

Sridevi, who started film career at the age of four, died of accidental drowning in Dubai last month. She was 54.

Mumbai: Farah Khan, who worked with Sridevi and has now choreographed for Janhvi in "Dhadak", feels it would be unfair to compare the newcomer with her mother.

Farah believes every actor has a different approach towards the craft and their individuality should be respected.
"Janhvi is absolutely lovely and she is a very good dancer. She picks up really fast and to compare her to her mother is the most unfair thing I think because Sri by her age was already a veteran and this is Janhvi's first film.

"I love Sri. When I started my career, she really pushed me and I used to do all her shows. But everybody is (a different) individual," Farah told PTI.

Sridevi, who started film career at the age of four, died of accidental drowning in Dubai last month. She was 54.

Farah has recreated the popular track "Zingat" from blockbuster Marathi film "Sairat" for the Hindi remake version of Karan Johar produced "Dhadak", that marks the acting debut of Jahnvi and Shahid Kapoor's half brother Ishaan Khatter.

"What happened was when they asked me to do it (recreate the song) for the Hindi version, I was given two briefs. The director (Shashank Khaitan) wanted it like it was done in the earlier movie, very casual, very organic and Karan wanted it to be a big song."

Farah, who is known for her commercial sensibilities, believes a well-told story is more important than a boring "pseudo-intellectual cinema".

"This year I have really enjoyed watching 'Lipstick Under My Burkha' which I thought was not only saying something but it was also very entertaining. Then, of course, you have Rajkummar's 'Newton' and I think 'Hindi medium' was again saying a new story."

Most of her directorial ventures have featured Shah Rukh Khan but the director said it took three years for the superstar to say yes "Main Hoo Naa".

"It was also a struggle because I was not making your typical so-called women should direct only a certain type of movie. I wanted to make a big budget action movie which had drama in it. So I was not falling in that cliche of what people suppose women directors should be making. That itself was a struggle" she said.

The director-choreographer is one of the jury members for REEL movie awards honouring artistes who have entertained audiences with their creativity through excellent storytelling.

Film critic-TV host Rajeev Masand will moderate the jury panel that also has names such as Sudhir Mishra, Sujoy Ghosh and Nikkhil Advani. The awards will be announced on March 20.

Why Rajinikanth did not attend Sridevi's prayer meeting in Chennai

They were known to be friends and superstar Rajinikanth had expressed shock when the news of Sridevi's demise came. The actor had even flown down to Mumbai to offer his last respects to the Kapoor family even before Sridevi's mortal remains were brought back to India from Dubai.

Which is why when the Kapoor family organised a prayer meeting in honour of the late actress, it was surprising to see Rajinikanth giving it a miss. His wife, Latha, did attend but the superstar was conspicuous by his absence.

Turns out the actor could not attend the meeting as he is in the Himalayas on a spiritual trip. The actor left for the trip on Friday and hence had to skip Sridevi's prayer meeting.

A day after Sridevi's demise, the actor had tweeted, "I'm shocked and very disturbed. I've lost a dear friend and the industry has lost a true legend. My heart goes out to her family and friends. I feel the pain with them #RIPSridev ... you will be missed.(sic)"

seriously who the hell compare jhanvi with sridevi...its unfair...noone can match sridevi furthermore she is a legend...why pressuring the little girl to become like her mother...she can never be...infact noone can match or fill sridevi shoes...neither any actress nor her own daughters...there is only one sridevi n she will always remain even after her death
