Box Office: Raid is a solid HIT in two weeks; collects Rs. 90.11 crores

Raid has emerged as a solid Hit in two weeks flat. The film has already collected Rs. 90.11 crore at the Box Office which is a very good number. Reason being that even after a double digit start on its first Friday, it had seemed that the maximum lifetime distance that the film would cover is Rs. 90 crore. However what has made the difference is solid hold that the film has managed in its second week.

The film has stayed ultra stable and as a matter of fact even shown upward trend in the latter part of the second week, owing to partial holidays. Even today the film would register good numbers due to Good Friday holiday. In fact the film has an outside chance of entering the Rs. 100 Crore Club by the close of third weekend itself, though all said and done it would reach that milestone during this week for sure.

Ajay Devgn has shown his consistency yet again with the successful run of the film and it is good to see a realistic drama like Raid bringing on audience. For director Raj Kumar Gupta, the film's success has proven to be a shot in the arm as now he can well look forward to a much more interesting innings in Bollywood for years to come.

'Raid' box-office: Ajay Devgn-Ileana D'Cruz starrer inches closer to Rs 100 crore

Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz starrer Raid has not only got appreciation from critics but it has also translated into monetary gains at the ticket window. The Raj Kumar Gupta's directorial has been registered as one of the biggest openings of 2018.

The box-office collection has been improving with each passing day thanks to good word of mouth publicity. The numbers at the box office have been inching towards 100 crore and has managed to garner Rs 90.11 crore at the box-office in 14 days. Even 14 days after the release of the film, the crime thriller is busy casting its spell at the ticket window with each passing day, and is listed in one of the few movies that continue to excite the audience even in its second week! Despite of other movies releasing last week, the movie has managed to have stable numbers.

According to trade experts, Raid is expected to sustain at the box office even in its third week and is soon going to join the 100 crore club.

Earlier, talking about his decision to do this film, Ajay said, "With Raid, I thought Raj Kumar can pull it off, seeing what he has done earlier with Aamir and No One Killed Jessica. Once I started shooting this film, I realised he is very good."

The period drama is set in the early 1980s with Lucknow as the background, the film revolves around a true incident of the longest raid in history.

The much awaited Ajay Devgn starrer Raid has completed it's half-a-month journey at box office on a superb note. Despite mixed reviews of critics, the film has got excellent response in early weeks at domestic box office and still has enough hold over the audience. Now, the movie has now entered in the third week and still has a solid hold over the audience.

After a solid opening, Panorama Studios and T-Series' production remained strong and did the business of 63.05 crores, that included 41.01 crores of weekend and 22.04 crores of weekdays from more than 3400 screens across the country.

Then in the second week as well, Raid witnessed good response despite having Hichki and other new offerings in opposite. It raked the business of 27.06 crores, that included 16.48 crores of weekend and 10.58 crores of weekdays. After 2 weeks, total collection of the film was recorded as 90.11 crores.

Now Ajay Devgn starrer has been entered in the third week and the newly released much awaited Baaghi 2 in its opposite. On 3rd Friday, Raid faced 16.1% of drop than previous day and minted 2.62 crore. With this, it's 15 days total collection has become 92.73 domestically.
