Padmaavat Sets All Time Record In USA And Canada

Padmaavat set an all time record in US /Canada for a the opening day with business of $1.20 million apprx. Bahubali - The Conclusion has a higher number with $4.75m but that was in three languages with the Telugu version getting most of the business. The only other film to cross $1 million in US / Canada is Dhoom3.

The director has strong follwing in the North American mearket with most of his films doing well since Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1998. Below are the top opening days in US / Canada

1. Padmaavat - $1.200,000

2. Dhoom 3 - $1,082,000

3. PK - $991,000

4. Dangal - $889,000

5. Chennai Express - $760,000

The film had grossed $500,000 on previews the day before which takes the total of the film to $1.7 million. The film has the potential to be the highest grossing Hindi film in US / Canada. Thisis the trend in South India and US market normally is very similar.

I tried to book tickets for Padma , it's sold out! But I am not surprised at all, cos almost all movies of bhonsali is lapped by NRI's. I ran so fast , even fell and bruised my knee..,but later when I saw Paro getting bruised on her forehead from Devdas, I kissed my bruises.

So yeah no surprise, after all it's Bhonsali movie , plus one year Karni sena promotion!, bingo jackpot!

It is better than NRIs lusting ovef lover boy in JHMS. This movie is 200% better than that. International stars days are numbered in international market.

Early estimate but Padmvaat did 4.2 million in USA/Canada in its first weekend. Thats a record. More than any Khan movie. Baabhubali did a 10 million weekend but that was all languages and Padmavat is just hindi. SO this is really huge ⭐️⭐️

Not to sound like an party pooper but the movie has been EXCLUSIVELY realize on 3D here, the remuneration of which are more. Plus the movie is released in a lot of screens. Here the movie is being shown IN 3D in theaters that NEVER play hindi movies. So yeah not a great feat if everything is taken into context.
