Who else thinks Kajol is overrated?

Kajol is not overrated. Yes compared to today's actresses she doesnt have a lot of versatile roles in her kitty. But if you compare her to most actress and the work they did strictly in the 90s, she was actually pretty superior. I have said this many times Bollywood almost regressed in the 90s as they were showing rapist victim love stories and it became far more hero centric. Many actresses like Karishma, Raveena were only known for doing flower pot roles. Meanwhile Kajol at least had equal parts to the hero, in her romantic roles. She at least made history by being the first female to win an award for best villain. She at least played two very different twin in Dushman. And she was far more natural compared to overrated mechanical actresses of today (Deepika). She was very much more natural then hamming actresses of the 90s, who had very forced expressions and heavy breathing when they were trying to emote (Karishma). All of these are considered great actresses. Well then Kajol very much deserves recognition.

So I was watching some of Kajol's movies and I was shocked to see she won an award for K3G. I loved her in DDLJ and even KKHH but her acting in K3G was apalling. She didn't leave any sort of impression on me.

All my life I have seen Kajol films only with SRK , and Interviews only with SRK and those are very nice.

Idk how to explain it, but I LOVE, absolutely love kajol's acting. While people were singing praises of SRK in their movies together, I was awed of Kajol and watched her scenes over and over again. Quite frankely, she is the best natural actress bollywood has ever produced. She has such a strong presence, it's so hard to overshadow her. Even in the studded star cast of KKKG, she stood out with her comedic acting. And mind you, she was not even known for her comedic skills before that or even after that. But, it's how she got into that role and made anjali come completely alive! She will always be my childhood girl-crush! ❤️ But at the end of this huge explanation, no she is definitely not overrated in my opinion. While her filmography is definitely limited, she has still been stellar in whatever work she has done. 😳

People are misunderstanding. I don't hate Kajol. Simran in DDLJ and Anjali in KKHH was amazing. I even liked Zooni in Fanaa and Kajal in Ishq. She has delivered some solid performances even if most of her hits are only with the Khans. I just think her acting in K3G, she really overacted despite being with SRK and all. I do love Raj-Simran and I love Kajol with Ajay too of course. I just think the other nominated performances especially Ameesha in Gadar were better.

You do not like K3G cause she had a comic role in the movie. It is hard to like an actress who does comedy as viewers usually never like to appreciate such roles. Whoever does such roles is always criticized as most of us do not even understand how hard it is to do such a role.
