SRK's had his time as the most successful super star, arguably of all-time.

Today, some really awful films are considered "hits" because they make the most money at the box office - but what does that actually mean? More tickets were sold? People went to the theatre multiple times? BUT WHY DID THEY??? Was there titillation? Were there crude jokes? Cheap misogynistic storylines? Low IQ scenes? If that is the case, then I'm quite okay with SRK not being the leader of today's pack of shite.

SRK's performances in films like Dear Zindagi, Fan, JHMS have been his best in years and years. Unfortunately the films themselves were disappointing. He needs to balance his good performances with decent screenplays helmed by competent directors.

Leave Ajay Devgan to do Golmaal One More Time, let Varun Dhawan do Judwaa 3, 4, 5, 6, let Salman Khan do Tiger Phir Aa Gaya Bewakoof Banane.

SRK needs to play his OWN game.

No, he is very much in contention. His career, stardom and achievements that spanned 25 years cannot be dismissed in view of a few career upsets. His popularity still remains undiminished and his top celebrity brand value is a clear proof of the same.

I would not say he is "fading", but I'd say "evolving" (bar dilwale & jhms, ofcourse 😆) in the recent years he is trying to figure out what works best for him. Like he made a refreshing attempt in Fan, but it didn't pay off. Whether his movies are earning well or not, I don't think his stardom is fully compromised. For, b/o collections are not the only criteria to gauge stardom for superstars like him who have built a well-established name and huge fan base over the years. His films still command a respectable opening. Every superstar has undergone this (or worse) lull phase in their career.

However, the subdued collections of his films are certainly a worrying sign. He has been choosing many mediocre scripts of late and an actor/star of his stature is not meant for the type of content he is working on. He needs to reinvent himself and work on substantial scripts. I think if he takes up bold, new content that suits his age, calibre and persona it will serve him well.

ironic how these movies have been mentioned but what about SRK's own biggest successes from this time? Chennai Express..Happy New Year..Dilwale (still a success)..how are these movies in anyway any better than Golmaal or Tiger Series you mentioned..

why highlight those for others but not the same kind of cinema done by SRK off late as well

but funnily enough those were not mentioned..wonder why..

and having said that i do agree SRK has had one of the MOST CONSISTENT success run thus far but arguments have to be done with tit to tat

so for every Golmaal Judwa Tiger series you mentioned..i present you Chennai Express..Happy New Year and Dilwale

5 years down and we will see how many remember Kick/Billi Zinda hai/Sultan etc as 'good' movies.Stans can boast about numbers as much as they want but at the end of the day it depends on how good the product is.

I thought the biggest disaster in the history of BW cinema,Mera Naam Joker was a classic example of how the BO numbers aren't everything.😕

Not a fan of SRK,but he is beyond games.

Not completely out, but he definitely lost script sense. And of course luck is not on his side. He is also aging badly. I really like Fan and Dear Zindagi even if they didn't do much business. As a fan, I would prefer to see him act in such movies rather than make nonsense like Happy New Year or Dilwale.

SRK is an icon. He is still a global superstar. His movies do well even in his so called lean phase
SRK is over. Salman and Aamir are the real superstars. No one cares for SRK anymore
SRK is a legend. Hits and flops don't matter. He will survive cos he is an amazing actor
Salman is still behind Prabhas and Aamir in his best phase while SRK was 1 for so many years
SRK is over. He even lost to Ranveer. Only Deepika can save him now by doing a film with him
SRK-PC, KJo, Farah, family man, jacket etc etc etc 😆
