But she had people lining up to sign her plus she was India's sweetheart and an ex Miss World. There was a difference between her and someone like Manisha, Mahima or Madhuri.

So much nonsense in this thread. People literally post whatever they want, and whoever reads it, believes it. What's new?

When Aishwarya was signed for Taal in 1998, she had already received/rejected offers from BIG names in the industry: Yash Chopra (DTPH), Rajiv Rai (Mohra), Rishi Kapoor (Aa Ab Laut Chalen), Karan Johar (KKHH) etc. She was an internationally famed super model of 5 years by the time she met Ghai. For anyone to think she was completely unknown and a rank "newcomer with 2 flops" is completely false. WHY WOULD AISHWARYA SLEEP WITH GHAI WHEN SHE TURNED DOWN YASH CHOPRA! That is a cheap accusation.

Mahima Chaudhry has NEVER said or even suggested or hinted that Ghai and her were involved with each other in any way other than professionally. It was Mahima's sister who wasn't happy with the way Mukta Arts (Ghai's company) were controlling her sister's career - they advised her not to sign Ram Gopal Verma's Satya (Urmila's role), as well as not being happy with the 35% commission she had to pay for 3 years on all earnings. That was the only issue. And of course she wasn't happy about Taal going to Ash.

Y'all really dragging Madhuri's name in here? Her mother went EVERYWHERE with her. Ghai discovered Madhuri as a backup dancer in 1985 while shooting Karma (he decided to scrap the song sequence) and he eventually relaunched her in 1989's Ram Lakhan.

Coming back to Mahima, she had done about 50+ ads and was a very famous model. She was sought after by many directors. Ghai signed her in 1995 and worked with her right up to the release of Pardes in 1997. Until someone comes out and makes a claim, I won't believe a "source close to the star" blah blah.

And also, sometimes you have to read between the lines to get the truth, but there is nothing here to suggest so, the theories just don't add up.
