I may not be a fan of Vira or Anu separately but together they are absolutely adorable..I think dey are super happy with each other..and I hope they continue to love each other till the end.

I concur with most of your rant save for the bit about their marriage not lasting. I honestly think they'll last, cuz remember the middle class values again. Middle class ppl very rarely get divorced.

N it's not just the cricket & Bollywood fever that has ppl hooked, the deeply rooted cultural obsession with weddings has also contributed to the hysteria.

Say what you will about Virushka, but they are a good match cuz at the core both seem to be insecure about their position/social standing & highly ambitious. Apart from their shared middle class background, this is another thread that connects them.

Try as they may to look aloof and unaffected by public perception, both are very much concerned about what ppl think of them. This whole wedding fiasco proved that.

Re: Virat's uncouthness. Yes, any girl from old money would never date him, let alone marry him. I would say Anushka is equally uncouth, although she attempts to hide it. :P
