Rohit Shetty's Simmba is a quirky cop drama starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan. While we were the first ones to tell you about Ranveer and Sara being roped in for the film, here's announcing a brand new casting.

R Madhavan

Believe it or not, R Madhavan, who is currently making a splash in Amazon Prime's web-series Breathe, is set to join Rohit Shetty's Simmba. The talented actor has been asked to play the villain in the film.

No cop film is ever complete without a strong villain, which makes Madhavan's role an important one.

Madhavan was last seen in Saala Khadoos (2016).

Madhavan is likely to join Ranveer Singh and debutante Sara Ali Khan in this action packed cop-drama. If all goes well, it will be none other than the 3 Idiots actor to antagonise Ranveer and Sara in Simmba.

Meanwhile, talking about Sara Ali Khan... Abhishek Kapoor has delayed Kedarnath (originally meant to be Sara's launch vehicle) to no end. Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty's Simmba is scheduled for a December 2018 release. It's an interesting fight to the winning post. Let's see who launches Sara first Rohit Shetty or Abhishek Kapoor.

R.Madhavan confirms he's not a part of 'Simmba', here's why!

Rohit Shetty's directorial 'Simmba' has been generating immense buzz amongst the audience and social media ever since its announcement. After Ranveer came on board in the Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster Temper', makers recently took to social media to announce Sara Ali Khan's entry in the film opposite Ranveer Singh.

While the lead pair has been decided, the makers were still on the lookout for someone to play the bad guy in Simmba'. Speculations were rife that R Madhavan has replaced Abhishek Bachchan for the role, Maddy on the other hand, confirmed that he is not doing the movie due to his injury.

In tweet shared by the actor, Madhavan told us that despite being a huge Rohit Shetty fan himself, he will still be unable to be a part of Simmba' owing to his shoulder injury.

Simmba' was earlier reported to release on December 28 ^th clashing with Salman Khan's Dabangg 3'. However, the makers are yet to announce the final release date of the film.

Hmm yes. But I wish maddy and ranno shared screen space together.. Well I dont mind AB jr either.. he has worked with shetty before., Loved his performance in Bol Bacchan.😃
