SLB's period drama starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor has been inspired by that poem. As per media reports, the share from the earning has been demanded so that the restoration of the birthplace and research institute of Malik Muhammad Jayasi can be done. In fact, the Nagar Palik Chairperson had organized a program in the town on Monday where it was said that Bhansali's film's earning will come from the book by Jayasi and so the poet has all the rights on Padmaavat's earnings. Though people in Amethi have welcomed the film, this positive reception is coming t a price for the makers.

sonal kalra: Watched #Padmaavat at a screening. Not qualified to debate over the debate, but as cinema,it's riveting storytelling and visual delight. @shahidkapoor is understated good, @deepikapadukone's eyes speak. @RanveerOfficial OWNS the film. And @jimSarbh is a surprise bundle of acting!

Manika(NDTV): Watched Padmavat. I knew the Karni sena is loony, watching the film confirmed it. The film glorifies Rajputs, Ranvir aka Khilji and Deepika Padmavati are never in a single frame together . What are these thugs protesting about? On a side note . Beautiful costumes & jewellery!!
