Arjun Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in Ashutosh Gowariker's next historical f

Ashutosh Gowariker is planning to make a
historical battle film. As reported by a
leading daily, the Lagaan director has
approached Arjun Kapoor to play the lead in
the film. Gowariker is also considering
Sanjay Dutt to play an important role in this
war film.
The battle is considered as one of the major
battles that were fought between 16th and
18th centuries. However, the confirmation
from the director is yet to be done.
Ashutosh's last film was also a historical
based Mohenjo Daro that starred Hrithik
Roshan and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles.
The film was a flop at the box office.
Meanwhile, Arjun is shooting with Parineeti
Chopra for Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. The
film is directed by Dibakar Banerjee.
In the film, Arjun will be seen playing the
role of a Haryanvi cop. Talking about his
tough cop look, Arjun had earlier said,
"Playing a cop is traditionally considered
cool in Hindi films. But in a Dibakar Banerjee
film, a cop is presented as realistic and yet,
unique as a person. Its that dichotomy of
blending yet and still standing out that
makes this role all the more exciting. Dibakar
is very specific about the look of his
characters. We worked on it for a long time
before he decided that this is the look he
wants. From my moustache to my hair cut,
to the freckles on my face to make my
character look like a cop and yet blend with
his environment reflects just how Dibakar
has imagined him and his world to be. It will
be a gritty entertainer and I'm looking
forward to the first day of the shoot."
On the other hand, Sanjay Dutt is busy with
the shoot of his next, Saheb Biwi Aur
Gangster 3 where he will be seen in a
gangster avatar. The shoot is taking place in
Jodhpur. Decoding the shades of Dutt's
character, producer Rahul Mitra had said,
"He will look, talk and behave like a true
royal. His costumes and appearance will be
majestic.The world the films are set in will
remain the same but Sanjay will be the
central character this time. We are adding
several new characters and some of them
are big names."
