That's 'cause Abrahamic religions specifically state there is only one God and one way to God (their respective religions). So that's why you will see terms like kaafir/infidel, idol worshiper etc. The very conservative factions of Abrahamic religions (Christianity, Islam, Judaism) do not teach acceptance of other religions 'cause it's considered heretic.
Philosophies in Hinduism teach that there are multiple routes to take and spirituality is not the bastion of any one school of thought.
I remember watching this documentary about a mosque in the UK which preached hatred against Hinduism and Hindus. It's nothing new. The very fundamental interpretations of religion are always bad for society.
I agree with what u are saying...and as much as i was shocked to know that, i understand where they are coming from... but the thing is, times have changed and at least majority of people are friends with people from different religions. So shouldn't it be logical to think and bit, that maybe what we presumed from centuries is wrong.
I think more then fundamentals being wrong, its us who have understood it wrongly. Like when I hear people say' Allah is the only God'. It sounds similar to Lord Vishnu, 'Everyone has to come to me, in the end'. It doesnt mean whether Allah or Vishnu is greater then each other, it simply means both are different names of the same entity. Its just us looking at them differently.
And then I wonder, if a common person like me can think this way, then why not the people who study their religion in depth.
