I was in my early teens in 1994 and I vividly remember both SALMAN and AAMIR were BIGGER stars then ajay and akshay.

To set the record straight, although akki and ajay r superstars too, but they were NEVER ahead of salman or aamir EVER even from the start, mid or late in their careers.

Salman got the biggest BB in history HUM AAPKE HAIN KAUN just four months before the release of AAA, he was already been declared a BIG STAR right from early 90s with a string of hits MPK, Baaghi, sanam bewaga and Saajan. Same with Aamir with QSQT, Dil, hum hain ahi pyar kay (and acclaimed jjws).

NO, the budget and net/gross of AAA is NOT WRONG at BOI, as I ALREADY mentioned another reliable official website MULTIPLE TIMES in this thread itself, ibosnetwork which is much older then boi, and it had almost the same collection and it gave the verdict for AAA as AVERAGE and not flop.

You can beg to differ but it doesn't change the facts. HAHK & Saajan did nothing for Salman. He self admittedly had no work and was trying to piggy bank on Sunny & Sanjay Dutt. Suhaag had a bumper opening, had all the screens and was the 7th highest grossing film of the year. Aamir might've been a little better off which is why he had all the screen time in AAA but early 90s was all about action and Akshay and Ajay along with Sunil Shetty were really building mass following. Khans would shine in the late 90s when romance took over.

Now come to sunny, Jeet was released in 1996 and the only one film that salman did in his entire career with sunny.

SANAM BEWAFA : SOLO

HAHK : SOLO

even in KARAN ARJUN he was appreciated more then srk.

(they are just his HIT solo films, but in totality salman was SOLO LEAD MALE in almost 90-95% of his movies right from debut till 90s end, EXCEPT one saajan , one jeet and one karan arjun in entire 10 years of 90s decade... so much PIGGYBACKING I swear😆😆😆).

Both AAMIR and SALMAN were BIG stars righ tfrom their debut, their charm and craze was on another level compared to ajay and akshay even in early and mid 90's.

Ask ANYONE who is a 90's kid, and they will SATISFY you about this "fact".

By your definition, VD is a bigger star than the Khans today, as he has more hits than any of them in the last 3-4 years. That's not how it works. All of Salmans hits were coming as second leads in the early mid 90s.

Here's a fun fact, that most Salman fans won't even know:

Akshaye Khannas role in Border was written for Salman. Salman was signed, ready to go. When Salim Khan heard about this, he wasn't happy as Salman was already playing second fiddle to Sunny in Jeet. He didn't want this to become a regular occurrence. His famous words to Salman, 'I raised you to be Amitabh, not Shashi Kapoor'. Salim Khan called JP Dutta and told him Salman couldn't do it 3 weeks before the first schedule in Bikaner. Dutta was in shambles and tried getting Akshay then Ajay but no one was available and that's how Akshaye Khanna got the role.

This story isn't to show that I know more about 90s Bollywood than probably anyone here but to show the second fiddle roles Salman was getting and doing and how Salim Khan pretty much made him change his outlook. Salman ofcourse would hit big time in the following year with Judwaa, PKTDK and truly become a superstar but he wasn't at the time of AAA.
